2. Question about obtaining copy of marriage license [1]
I plan to request a copy of the marriage license of my mother and father-in-law. They are both deceased (2004 and 1963 respectively). The application does not state that a copy can be issued to surviving family members. If I send a copy of my inlaws' death certificates with the application, will they issue me a copy? We are fairly certain of the year of their marriage but not the month and day. Will this be a problem? My mother-in-law was a very secretive person and since her death we have found out t

5. DENT FAMILY & TUNNEL AT ST. IGNATIUS [1]
I sent the following post to the Charles County list the other day and then realized it might be of interest to you too. Back in 1999, after I attended an Elderhostel on Charles County history and culture, someone sent me two newspaper articles which they thought might interest me. I "saved" them with the intention of posting them, but promptly lost the articles. Well, they just turned up in a pile of recipes I had also "saved"! So here goes! 1) The Washington Times published a cover story from LaPlat

Marianne, What do you have that makes you think your folks lived "near Goose Creek"? Do you know where it is or what their land was called? My HARBIN folks lived on it, and I have done a great deal of research about it. I'll post it depending on what you have. Actually there were 2 Goose Creeks but the other one is in a different area if I rememember right. Joan Marie in Oregon
