Most newspapers in large cities did/do not carry much in the way of obituaries. Perhaps short death notices, if you are lucky, and they may be scattered throughout the paper, though usually there is a pattern of location in the paper. Usually with "local" news and often in a column of news items for a smaller community in the coverage area. The PG area may have been covered by Washington DC newspapers so PG residents didn't get much coverage. But look for area local weekly newspapers. A small -town new

I am looking for any information on Cephas Webb Benson. He was in the census of 1810 and 1820 in or near Bladensburg, MD. He had two wives and a son and six daughters. He died in 1832 and left administrative papers which list all the children, but I don't know who they married, except Lucinda married John Watkins Scott June 4, 1836. According to census records she was born about 1818. There was a Cephas Benson as a draught in the Revolutionary War, but I don't know if he wa Cephas Webb Benson's father
