Careful about kids pictures of the 1830's...........photos didn't start until the 1840s and then became a hit in the 1850s with duguerrotypes

Hello Teresa.
I'm not sure if I have spoken to you before. Am I correct in assuming for
reading your e-mail that you will do lookup request? If so could you please check
to see if you have any listings for the following people: Delozier /
Delosier, Wolfel, Farrie.
Thanks in advance
Michele

Helen,
I found my Morrow and Morrow book, Distribution of Estate Accounts,
Washington County Maryland, 1778-1835 and found an Elizabeth Mong in
there. Normally I would see these as the widow, the married children
and then the single children. If that is the case this particular
Elizabeth was Elizabeth Fultz. I don't find a marriage for her.

Thank you, Lauren. I'm beginning to work in Frederick Co. now.
I have been seeing so many people find help for their family lines on this
list and I wondered if there was a book that could help me locate information
about my Rohrer brick wall. I have a Christiana Rohrer b. 1788 (perhaps in PA
or in Washington Co. MD) died in 1857 Hagerstown, Washington, MD She married
David Hershey abt 1805 for my descendant Magdelena Mary Hershey was born in
1806 in Washington Co. I would so like to find information about Christiana
Rohrer and who her parents were. David
As many of you know I was so excited to see not only where the obit for my
dead end was published but also that three other FARROW members were also
listed that day. I had hoped for answers including possible family members
I could not find.
The Pratt Library has informed me that that micro film is not in there
collection. It is missing from the Washington County Library also. Pratt
said they have the most complete collection and do not think it exist any
longer. This is so heart breaking. If an
If they are anywhere, it would be a big public library, historical society
or the library at a nearby college/university. Many people overlook the
holdings of a college or university library, but if it is a public
institution, anyone may use the reference books...you just can't check out
books unless you're a student. When I go to PA, I use the Uniontown (Fayette
County) branch of Penn State...they have most issues of the local paper
there. It's been circulating for more than 100 years.

Teresa,
I can access The Herald and Torch Light newspaper on ancestry.com for
1858-1861 and 1865-1895. When I type in the name Nathan Farrow, I get three
hits:
February 25, 1874 - Sept. 16, 1874 and Nov. 1, 1875.
You have noted his obit shows up in 9/19/1860, unless I misunderstood your
post. Do you know how the Farrow name was spelled in that paper?
Scanning the newspaper is a tedious job because it only shows a very small
second at a time. If I can located something for Farrow with the above
date,
Larry and Grace:
[1]I'm quite interested in all the information provided for this man and his family as my gg-aunt, Catherine HERR Kuhn, is a daughter of Conrad HERR, a son of John Peter HERR and his wife Susanna.
[2]I researched the children of this family some years ago and found all but one, Conrad, listed in the same records of the German Reformed Church of Hagerstown. With the obvious child born every two years, and a 4-year gap 1795 - 1799, I predicted another child born in October 1797. I eventuall
Marriage records indicate
Jacob married Mary Beard 26 Jan. 1807
John B. married Mrs. Hoover 26 August 1837
These are the only ones in the Morrow and Morrow marriage index with
first names of John and Jacob.
Spelling variations include: Bachtell, Baightell, Beadtchtel, Bachtele,
Baechtel

Well, seems I was right. Nancy McCall married John Creager 28 July 1819 in Washington County.
I have had little to no success connecting on the McCalls of Washington County but this proves I was on the right track.
I am now inclined to think my line is of Robert McCall of Washington county born circa 1770.
Any info would be appreciated.

That would be a good question for John Frye at the local library in
Hagerstown.

Tom, I have access to the ancestry papers. However I am at work and cannot
