Weren't the Jacob's Lutheran church records reprinted in a modern series? I
had this series out on ILL a year or so ago, and I could have sworn that it
contained records of the Jacob's Lutheran Church. Are you saying that we
would find more records in a microfilm on this church itself than were
reprinted?

for my grand father's grave. His death certificate said he was buried at
Blue Ridge Cemetery and I was told that it was next or near to a Catholic
Church in Thurmont. I found a Catholic Church with a small grave yard behind
it, but couldn't find the grave, since this was a 1936 burial, I should be
able to find and read a stone. Is there a second Catholic

Thanks for the suggestion. The more we delve into my husband's family, the more avenues we find we MUST pursue. Since the original emigrant g grandparents had 10 children and 7 of those had families of 10 or more, we continue to meet up with other descendants. Wherever we have researched in the USA or Europe, we have found genealogists quite generous with their ideas and assistance; a verys special group of people.

Loree,
In Morrow and Morrow's marriage index for the county is this CREAGER entry:
John/Sarah BOWARD 4/07/1817
In Distribution of Estate Accounts (Morrow and Morrow) are some entries
of interest:
BOWART(D), Margaret. Adm. George Brumbaugh. 4/14/1830; Mary McDaniel,
George, Margaret Figaley, Christine Kifer, Michael, Jacob, Andrew, Sarah
Creager T. 111.07
In the Will Index (Morrow and Morrow)
BOWARD, And. f w 1885
Geo. O. f 1878
Henry f 1885
I am hoping someone on the list might be able to assist. Planning a trip down to MD and Clearspring area to do some research, we decided to try to find the place where my husband's family home once stood.
Looking at an 1877 map from the MD Atlas a relative gave us a few years ago, we see no road names just numbers i.e. 329, 286, etc. The map has his great granddmother's name "Mrs. Chambers" printed just above Green Spring P.O and further down what appears to be a road School No. 7. This part
Thanks to everyone who responded to my request. I will look over the

There was another Funkstown. Quoting from "City of Magnificent Intentions", A History of the District of Columbia, page 29:
(about formation of Washington) "Two townsites, largely unoccupied, also became part of the plan: Carrollsburg was located on the Eastern Branch between sites for the navy yeard and arsenal; Hamburgh or Funkstown stood near the mouth of Rock Creek."

Hello fellow listers,
I am looking for information pertaining to the MANN / RASH / WARFORD families of Bedford/Fulton Counties, PA, and Washington County, MD.
William George RASH, b. Jul 1858, Bethel Twp, Fulton Co, PA, d. After 1930, Hancock Washington Co, MD? He was married to Angeline MANN, b. Feb 1858, Bethel Twp, Fulton Co, PA, d. Abt 1933, Hancock Washington Co, MD.
Angeline MANN's grandparents were John Hill MANN and Elizabeth WARFORD.
They would have migrated from Bedford/Fulton Co, PA into Ha

Thanks so much! The first 3 are probably my husband's g grandfather and the next 2 are his grandfather who was a judge and magistrate in Frostburg from about 1880 to his death in 1917.
To our knowledge/research, we had no Col. John CHAMBERS in the family. John B. CHAMBERS, was a PVT. in the 13th MD in the Civil War. His older brother Michael A. was a career Navel Officer after the Civil War with FL being where he was stationed in the early 1900s.
Thanks.

Carol,
I checked Morrow and Morrow's index which covers 1799 -1860 and there is
no Charles R. SMITH entry and no entry for the surname MNU in either
the brides' or grooms' portions of the index. Marriage licenses for the
period 1851-1886 are available at Maryland State Archives (MSA mf CR
1194, 29,146, 35,682). Marriage records beginning in 1886 are available
at the courthouse and at MSA according to Russell's research guide.

I think I missed some of the mail about "obits." If one of the listers is
doing lookups, I would very much appreciate any information. If not, I
apologize.
I am looking for James Ferguson of Hagerstown who died in 1832, but I
don't have exact date. I know he left $10,000 to his sister in Ireland, and a
like amount to the Presbyterian Church, so I would think he was well to do,
and might have had some sort of write up in the local paper.
