Roger, there is an estate for Leonard Emmert. Adm. Benjamin, Leonard, Michael. 1/5/1809. Heirs were Benamin, Magdalena, Michael, Joseph, George, Daniel, John, Catherine, and Leonard. There are quite a few Emmert marriages including four for the name John. Brides were Elizabeth Forny in 1826, Mary Newcomer in 1834, Ann Hershey in 1843, and Louisa M. Burchart in 1846. There is an Elizabeth Emmert whose death is recorded in the Feb. 27, 1827 Torchlight. She was the 16 year old daughter of John Emm

England) and Susannah ??? Maria married Solomon CREAGER 10 Oct 1833 in Montgomery Co, OH. also, there is a Motel 6 right next to valley Mall that has pretty reasonable rates, it's just outside of downtown hagerstown but only about a 10 to 15 minute drive to the downtown places. Cindy, Beaver Creek is an area about 5 miles outside of Hagerstown, Washington County, MD During the 1850's it was a bustling place, now an area of homes. as for the Klines, Clines, etc. there are many of that name variations in Western MD. Have that name in my line, but back in the 1700's. Jeanne

There is an area in Western PA that was once part of Virginia. It is in part of Washington Co. In the genealogy given to me by my grandfather it says that John Munn was born in Virginia. Other researchers have him born in PA. We were both right. It was Yogohonia Co., VA which is now in PA. Anne

Lee, The two places that I can tell you to visit would be the Washington County library, you can get the address from their website: www.wc-link.org and also the Washington County Courthouse, I'm not positive of the address but I think it is 36 W. Antietam St. (correct address can be found by doing a web search for MD courthouses, Washington County. Hope that helps. Alternate spellings are fine, Larry. I have found my ancestors' name spelled variously, with Rea, Rhea and Ray being the most common. In fact, there is a line of cousins, from one of my g-g-g-grandfather's sons, and they all spelled it Ray, and so have their descendants, to this day, so, this could be just another such case.
