I am looking for death records of a John M. Long who died in that area about 1880.
I am also looking for a picture of Thomas Edison in the 1920's with 2 young girls setting on his lap. It was taken at the power plant office in Hagerstown, MD.
Thanks, Jimmie

Friends,
The Zion German Reformed Church in Hagerstown, MD, now part of the United Church of Christ, is a mother church for many of our ancestors. I urge each of us to send $10 or whatever is affordable to this church to assist with its program of restoration and maintenance of the church cemetery, the resting place of the ancestors of many of us. My $20 is in the mail.

Hello,
I am new to research in Washington County Maryland. I am researching the
LEE surname, I believe they were in the area from about 1770 to 1780, and
then went to Nelson County, Kentucky.
Does anyone on this list own or have access to these books:
"Index to "A history of Washington County, Maryland" by Jane Dickens
"Revolutionary Patriots of Washington County, Maryland 1776-1783" by Henry
Peden.
I would very much appreciate a lookup for LEE and ATHERTON.

I am looking for proof (and a copy) that Valentine Horn signed this oath. I

Any help appreciated.

I have looked through all my resources for Washington County and found not a single entry for LaPorte. That included the marriage index, the will and estate document index, estate distributions to 1835, 5 volumes of newspaper extractions, the obituary locator, Brumbaugh Vol. 1 of colonial records, Passano's source records for MD, Vol. II, III and VII of the Cemetery records, Bible Records in the Washington County Free Library, Frederick Co marriage licenses 1778-1810, etc.

Your information about Johannes Geiger and wife Susanna is quite interesting though the families still do not have apparent connection to my Johan Peter HERR. JPH was a Hessian soldier who deserted to American forces before the Yorktown battle and was brought to Ft. Frederick area for safekeeping until war end. I've traced him back into Germany and his great-grandparents. However, JP Herr's wife, Susanna, is my quest. I have only vague information suggesting her surname was WISE / WEIS. Perhaps
