Nothing for Christiana noted in the Washington County Obituary Locator Book, 1790-1943. I checked all of the various spellings I could think of for Kefauvers. Revolutionary War Records of Maryland, Brumbaugh has Patriot's Oath, March Court 1778, page 14, line 58, Daniel Bowman in Richard Davis' Return. This entry is undated. Page 16, line 126, has Vallentine Horn in Samuel Barrits Return. This entry is dated March 16, 1778. Hope this helps

The only George Weis I have found in Hagerstown had a son, Peter, born 1762 but no daughter named Susanna. An obituary for William Neill appeared in the Morning Herald newspaper on August 1, 1806. The microfiche of this newspaper can be found at the Washington County Library. I am researching my ancestors and trying to sort out the children of Henry and Daniel Ortman. I would appreciate any help/guidance. Henry Ortman, son of John Ortman, was born before Nov 1788, married Ann Maria "Mary" Shilling on 20 Sep 1808 in Washington County, Maryland, and died before 15 Jul 1820 in Washington County, Maryland. Joan, Your information about Johannes Geiger and wife Susanna is quite interesting though the families still do not have apparent connection to my Johan Peter HERR. JPH was a Hessian soldier who deserted to American forces before the Yorktown battle and was brought to Ft. Frederick area for safekeeping until war end. I've traced him back into Germany and his great-grandparents. However, JP Herr's wife, Susanna, is my quest. I have only vague information suggesting her surname was WISE / WEIS. Perhaps
