I have the NH Philip Towle b 1616 in my own line, as a brother-in-law to Jemina Asten/Austen. He and his wife, Isabella Asten/Austin had 7 ch, including a Philip b 1659. I don't have much information on the family nor am I familiar with them after the NH/Rockingham Co. phase of their lives. This is the 2d posting from "Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and New Hampshire"; Noyes, Libby, and Davis, Portland,Maine, 1923-32. - All towns are Maine unless stated -- Keep in mind that Maine was actually part of Massachusetts until 1820 and you will need to find information at the Massachusetts State Archives in Boston.....look for "Maine Papers" [on line] . I show a several TOWLE in my files, only 1 remotely related to my listings. My sources show TOWLE in Hampton, NH and Chester, NH. Philip TOWLE and Isabelle ASTEN (Austin in one listing) are mentioned as the parents of a Caleb TOWLE, B-14 May 1678. Married Zipporah BRACKET. She died 14 Aug 1756. Caleb was the father of Francis Towle mentioned below. I would believe that Chester, NH has a library and you may be able to get info from them from the following book, if they have it. Sanford Hooper married Waterville 1842 Sarah Gullifer of Clinton. The Hoopers had three known children: Ella P. who married Hazo F. Wood, Angeline, b. 1849 (nothing further known), and John S., b. 1854 (nothing further known). Would like to know the names of the parents of both Sanford and Sarah and any additional info on family. Would appreciate having someone look up the family in 1850 - they were probably living in Waterville - they were there in 1860 & 1870, absent in 1880. Thanks, Ardell
