Brenda, You are in luck. Work has been done on this family, which like many Montville, Maine families migrated from Jefferson, Maine to Montville/Liberty area. It is on file at the LDS site under ancestral files. Attached is a pasteup with the researcher's address. It should always be so easy. Happy hunting. Hi David. I don't mind your letter, in fact feel flattered. Thank you for the good words, and for your posting. We pray that you had a good Christmas day. We did, and the last of family left about an hour ago. It is good to sit back and relax after a busy day, and bountiful Christmas feast. I thought I would share this with you all. Isabel, I hope you won't mind too much that I sent this. Isabel Morse Maresh is a member of this list. She writes wonderful historical articles about her ancestors of Waldo County, many of which can be found at the Waldo County USGenWeb site at http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mewaldo/index.htm . She has been researching her roots for many years, writing genealogy columns and historical articles for local newspapers. I was way too young, or so I thought, t

I have a large database of Decrows, I have Abigail's place of death as Islesborough, Waldo, Maine in 1774. It is an undocumented source from Hugh Hatch who married Toma Decrow, she is my cousin. Abigail is my 4th great grand aunt. We are building a new house and all of my genealogy is in storage at the moment so at the moment this is all I have. Do you descend from Jeremiah and Abigail? Hi Pat, I am a descendent of Jeremiah and Abigail. Their son Seth settled on Deer Isle Maine and my Hatch relatives lived there until the early 1900's when my g grandfather died at the age of 38 and his widow moved down to Boston. Yes I know Hugh believes Abigail died there (but why 1774? when Jeremiah and her Decrows were imprisoned on the guard ship Adams after that...) but no proof and no idea where she was living before that. Also no idea what happened to Jeremiah. I would be very intereste

I am sending you (not the list) a copy of a page from the "Vital Records of Isleborough" which lists a Jeremiah Hatch and his daghter Abigail.. Doesnt list the wife and the dates don't match the 1774 death date of Abigail, but it may be a clue. I haven't searched Maine online recently, but you might find more information there. Good luck. 22. Waldo County: cemetery question [1]
Hello, I am trying to find the final resting place of my ancestor jeremiah Hatch and his wife Abigail Decrow Hatch. There is some belief that they may have settled in the Waldo county area as there are Decrows listed in the area. Both Jeremiah and some Decrows fled Massachusetts after the Revolution began. If you have any record of the burial of either Jeremiah and/or Abigail it would be great to learn this. I have been looking for quite some time. Thanks for your help you can provide. Regards, H

They were Olive Shorey who married Henry William Mitchell and Dorcas who married ALonzo Mitchell.
