Carol, thank you so much. Now I understand! If I'd paid a little more
attention, I would have figured that out (hopefully).
Best wishes to you too,
Jan

I'm looking for descendants of Sylvanus BYARD who lived much of his life in
Waldo County and is buried at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Winterport, according
to this RootsWeb WorldConnect data base:
http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=corson&id=I9523
I've been researching the BYARD families who lived in Sedgwick/Sargentville
in Hancock County and only recently discovered Sylvanus Byard. The vital
records of Sedgwick state this about his birth:
"Sylvenus Byard , son to Polly Billings, wa

Hi Carol.
I'm very confused (what's new?) since I am on the MAESSEX and MEHANCOC
mailing lists and thought that the MEWALDO list was the same....meaning
anyone on these lists were interested in the towns that belonged in these
counties...Essex in Massachusetts, Hancock and, of course, Waldo County. I
didn't know I was writing to you, in particular, and thought my question was
going out to anyone on the Waldo County mailing list. Wrong?
I clicked on this http://www.rootsweb.com/~mewaldo/index.htm
and fro

there's a typographical error and hope someone knows the correct spelling of
this man's name: "October 14, 1805 CHARLES MOGARASR married to Sally

I sent that a few days ago but then found the correct spelling in the

"From Marriages and Marriage Intentions - Sedgwick, Maine:
Charles Mograge - Sally Byard married 14 October 1805."
Does anyone know who Charles might have been?

Am looking for birth of Theophilus Hopkins as son of Simeon Hopkins and his wife Mehitable Hardy Hopkins. He was born June 25, 1825...perhaps Searsmont, Belfast, Camden...his oldest bro. was born in Bangor in 1835 but since Simeon's mother died on Vinalhaven in 1848 and he did not move to Wisconsin until 1850...I think he may have been in Waldo or Knox Co....at least when Theophilus was born. Some records show that Simeon was married in Searsmont.
Theophilus was married Dec 15, 1850...and shortly after
Hi Jan,
The Waldo Mailing List and the MeGenWeb site are different components.
The reason I suggested what I did was you were interested in people who
had lived specifically in those towns and there are people who can help
you directly THAT way. Yes, otherwise anyone can pick up on your note
and answer.
With best,
Carol

Dear Jan,
Thanks so much for writing to me. I wwill look and see what I can do
for you, but in the meantime I can put you on to people who manage
the Winterport and Frankfort sites. I basically cover Searsport,
Northport and Montville, but will be more than happy to help if I
can. If you go to the MeGenWeb site and click on the counties you
will come to a place that will tell you who is doing what town. Just
click on Waldo Co. and then on lookup volunteers. In the meantime I
will do some hunting. Good
