The Sedgwick vital records say Sylvenus Byard ,son to Polly Billings was
born January 19,1810. Also from Sedgwick vital records say Mr. Robert Byard
died January 30,1814 his parents were James Byard and Betsy is says that
Robert was born in Penobscot. then on another page it says the birth of Mr.
Robert Byeard children it gives a daughter Abigail Byeard d.o Robert and
Abigail Byeard b. Nov.30,1768 there are eight other children listed. if you
want I can send the list to you.

on your website below and it's beautifully presented! I'd loved the
photographs of all those little villages I've been mentally hanging out in
for the past four years. Perhaps next summer I'll actually physically go
there! It's so interesting that everyone who lives anywhere in New England
states that their town is "the most beautiful in the world." Your

Hi. I'm new to this list for Waldo County but I'm hoping that someone might know the answer to my question. I've been looking for siblings or parents of Robert Byard who was one of the first settlers in the Sedgwick area (Plantation #4), Hancock County, in 1763 or so. One Byard researcher I met on-line had heard that Robert came here from England with two brothers but that they went their separate ways after arriving.

When I asked if anyone on these lists knew who Sylvanus Byard may have been,

What a surprise!! Does that mean that Polly had little Sylvanus out of
wedlock but gave the baby his father's surname? I know that the
Byards and Billings families knew each other since they were among the first
settlers in the Sedgwick area.
