Can look up any listing in any published cemetery book for Berrien County for you. Send name, date of death and cemetery if possible. If not, send name and will try to find it. Also if you know Civil War or any other war info., please send.

I recently found a small book at my aunt's titled "Berrien's Beginnings"; compiled and written by Ella Champion of Niles, MI, stories written by Frances Huston Sink of Benton Harbor, MI Drawings by Ella Champion. Printed 1926
It is dedicated to the children of Berrien County "in hopes that they will gain a respect and admiration for their ancestors, the pioneers of Berrien County".
I could scan in the Table of Contents if anyone is interested. It is only 37 pages long but hardcovered.

Hi,
Does anyone do volunteer lookups? From your website, what I'm interested in
is the:
Berrien County Naturalization Index 1840-1894
My ancestor was Philip Seel (most of the info on him in Berrien County
census, etc., he is listed as PHILIP SALES). I would also be interested in
any other SALES/SEEL that are in the index so I can order copies of their
naturalization papers.
Thanks,

Has anyone tried yet to get me the information on the Rupps in St. Joseph?
It has been a busy time for me and I figure you have been busy also. Could you let me know when you can get down to wherever to get the obits, etc. on the Rupps? Thank you, Carolyn Kasischke
I have done a quick search in the naturalization index and found Saale,
Philip 1850.
There are none listed with an e spelling I also checked the i spelling and
only came up with Philip.
You can purchase a copy of the application from the Berrien County

I too have a copy of Animaps CD, and I do not have a mac so you can use it
on any computer. It has come in very useful many times. I do not remember
exactly where I bought my copy. It was at a genealogy seminar. I would
recommend checking out any of the venders including Ye Olde Genealogie
Shoppe (yes the spelling is right).

Dorothy makes a very good point, but for less money you can have better
than the book at home. I'm not involved with this company, other than
as a happy user of Animap Plus software. It's pc only, but I use it
on a Macintosh powerbook using Virtual PC.

Here's someone who will do free lookups for anyone with ties to the
Andersonville Civil War Prison in Georgia. From my own research, I know
that there are Berrien County ties with the following surnames:
Birdsey
Jakway
Whittaker
Chriss

Hi all,
I am unsubscribing as I believe my Edward Devers was only in Benton Harbor
for about one year, 1870, and I think he left no trace. If anyone has
evidence to the contrary, please e me at: bartlett@camosun.bc.ca
It has been an interesting if not a personally rewarding experience to
lurk on your list. Good hunting.

Is there any one out there researching the above named families? They first
settled in Bainbridge and then Tillstrom and Staley can be found in Berrien
Center.
Bt the way we visited the Byers Cemetery. I looks great even under that
small covering of snow.

Gee Terry I wish I could help you. With so little data it makes it rather
hard.
However we do have a chapter of American Historical Society of Germans From
Russia http://www.ahsgr.org/misouthw.html located in Berrien County, they
may be able to assist you. Paul Koehler pkoe662885@aol.com is the President
of the chapter out of St. Joseph.
Let us know if we can be of anymore assistance.
