Any idea what pistol the Michigan Cavalry officers carried. Was it an .44 cal Army or a .36 cal Navy colt (the title army/navy has NOTHING to do with the service) or a Remington. Thanks for your help. Dennis

I happen to know a little about Forrest Stock and have actually been to his descendents farm near Jackson, Michigan. I went there to copy a number of photographs of Forrest Stock in uniform and civilian attire. I may be able to put you in contact with his family and provide you with scans of his images. W

Forest Stock is also on record as being held here at Andersonville prior to
being transfered to Florence however the records here at Andersonville do
not show him held at Macon ( AKA Camp Oglethorpe )
