I'm not aware of any relatives named Jacob, but my ancestors did use both spellings Ryder and Rider, and many of them lived in Michigan.
What part of MI did Jacob live in? My ancestors lived in Berrien and Ottawa Counties.
Hi!
Is there a database of the burial of Michigan civil
war soldiers? I'd like to find a burial record for
Ataliba/Atalibar/Ataliber BLANCK. He served in Co. H,
13th Michigan Infantry from 12-19-1861 to 6-15-1863.
He was living in Calhoun Co. at the time of his
enlistment.
Thanks very much!!!
Mary

Pat,
Thank you so much for providing this information. After seeing this post, I
went and checked it out myself because I have been unable to determine when
my 2nd great grandfather, Hiram Crocker, died and where he might be buried.
I found him listed in the SUVCW registry and have since been in contact with
Rick Danes, the coordinator for Wayne Co. Michigan. He provided me with a
death date and place of burial of my ancestor.
I'm planning a trip down to the Romulus City Cemetery to take a look for
myse
Dwayne,
That is really good news. I am glad to know that there is a possibility of
look ups too for people by the SUVCW coordinators.
Pat

Mary,
Go to the links on this page and there are two places online that you might
look.
http://www.mifamilyhistory.org/civilwar/
One is specifically cemetery information that people are turning in to be
put online. One other link you might try is The Son's of Union Veterans of
Michigan which was once known as the GAR or Grand Army of the Republic. They
have a database of burial places of the veterans in Michigan from their
records and it is online. You need the free Acrobat reader to access them.
