Sorry I can't provide more information for you, Agustin, but all I could find at Ancestry was a reference to John Sheppard going to Uruguay being referenced in a book entitled "The Scots Overseas: Emigrants and Adventurers from Aberdeen and North East Scotland, Fife, Moray and Banff, Angus and Perth, Southern Scotland, Glasgow and the West of Scotland, Orkney and Shetland, The Lothians, and the Northern Highlands" by David Dobson (Westminster, MD: Willow Bend Books, 2000. 3. Re: [MIDLOTHIAN] Richardson from MLN [1]
Hi Bob, Thanks for taking the time to respond to my query. That John, son of William and Catharine, is definely mine. His brother, Gideon , was alao born in Hawick ( 1810) and baptized in Dalkeith. This Gideon must of died young as a son born in 1814 was also named Gideon. John and Gideon ( 1810) are the only birth/christening entries I have found for this family. Wailliam ( 1786-1859) was a stone mason by trade and spent 7 years in the Dumfries Militia. They left Scotland for Canada in 1818. My Will

5. Re: [MIDLOTHIAN] Mac/McDonald [1]
According to ScotlandsPeople, John Durham McDonald's second wife was Jane Donaldson. According to limited information posted in a family tree at Ancestry, the family emigrated to Sydney, Australia with John arriving first. I found his wife and the two children who were said to have joined him on a passenger list leaving London in 1915 but couldn't find him. One possible was a John D McDonald who sailed from London in 1912. There is a John Durham McDonald in the Australia Electoral Lists database in Sydney f

There were actually surprisingly few Robert Patricks in the search results at Ancestry. Unfortunately none of the ones that I found who emigrated between 1871 and 1873 matched the information you provided. There was only one Robert Patrick that I could find that came close but the passenger list said he was from Ireland. I also searched for Elizabeth and came up empty. I then tried searching for the children and still nothing. Sorry. Unfortunately not all passenger lists have survived. Also unfortunate is

Hi, all, I am new to this list, but not to research... I am looking for some general information about ships leaving the area in 1785-1786.? My 3rd great grandfather's parents, supposedly, left Scotland in time to arrive in New England (America) around the end of March, 1786, which is when Robert Robison was, supposedly, born.? All the "records" I can find here in the states say that he was born either on the ocean, Scotland, or Rhode Island.? I found him in Upstate NY beginning in 1820 and tracked him un

I searched the passenger list databases at Ancestry. I searched for John McIntosh alone using every variation of the name I could think of and wasn't able to narrow down the results to anything definitive. Finonnghal, if you let me know the name of the people you are looking for who emigrated to Danbury I can do a search for them at Ancestry.
