Being an 'only' child doesn't mean that there weren't others born. It might be, because the baby died so young that no one ever mentioned it. My son-in-law was married before he learned that his mother wasn't an 'only' child. She had a sister that no one ever mentioned.

Hi Folks!
Searching for the Knuuttila/Gobie family. Arrived in MI from Finland/Russia
around 1890 and 1892. (The family may have landed in Canada before
continuing on to MI.)
Father:
Samuel Knuuttila/Gobie, b November 1861 in Finland. Samuel emigrated, alone,
in 1890. He owned & operated a barber shop in Bessemer, MI after moving from
Negaunee, MI. Samuel changed his surname from Knuuttila to Gobie after being
naturalized in 1900 in Bessemer, MI. I do not know where/when Samuel died.

Hi cousins,
I hope you're all having a WONDERFUL Wednesday! :)
Since there wasn't a huge response to June's Challenge, I've decided to

For the next two weeks everyone please be sure to keep your mailboxes
emptied so we don't have a slew of bounced messages and you won't miss

Hi,
I'm thinking I may escape the big city this weekend and go up to Iron County. I called the Iron County Museum and they said they will be open July 4 and then on July 6. Does anyone know what specific genealogy resources they have that are useful? I'm specifically hoping they have issues of the Reporter or other newspapers to look at obituaries. Also wondering what else they have?
Thanks,
