Otto H. G. Moores commenced business in 1861. He came here in 1849,
and worked for Daniel Johnson in his steam mill. In 1850 he went to
East Saginaw and helped clear away the trees preparatory to building
the city. The next year he engaged as clerk with Thomas Whitney in
his lumber business and remained with him till 1858. Then he came to
Saginaw City and engaged as bookkeeper for D. H. Jerome, continuing
