There is a book on the Ladiner family from that area. It's called The
Ladner or Ladiner Odessey or something like that. It doesn't have a
index but a separate index was published. I have a copy of the index if
you want me to do some lookups.

I am almost certain that my ancestors were not only children! Yet after
years of looking for their kin, I keep coming up empty.
He was Henderson G. Williams, born April 22, 1832, in North Carolina. He is
first documented in the 1860 census of Pickens County, Alabama, already
married with three small boys. In all census records, he appears as H.G.
Williams.
Henderson comes from his civil war papers and from his tombstone.

I think that in Mississippi murder trials start in the Circuit court
(that what it is called there) and you can find the records in the

I was wondering if someone could do a lookup on ancestry or something
for the year 1860 and the name Jerome (or J.B.) Slater. I know it would
be kinda hard but if you could search for just the first name. I saw
that sometimes the last name doesn't even come close to the spellings
and people are finding them using first names. Jerome was born May of
1852 so that would make him about 8 in the 1860 census. I would be
forever grateful.

How To Look Up A Case Using Citations
Each case has its own individual "citation" consisting of the
Volume and page number of the reporter where the decision first appears.
The citation will tell you in abbreviated form where to find the case. For

For Mike looking for information about your possible family accused of
killing someone. Note the correct spelling of the county of Pontotoc. Try
Donna's site - listed below - I clicked on it and it is great. What I
wanted was to find the name (s) of newspapers in that county. You can find
that information along with an address or possibly even a phone number to
find out about that possible source information.
