Hello, I was advised by another Roots List member to join this list, regarding my confusion, in acquiring Death Records/Certificates from the MICHIGAN state offices. I "lost" my $13 four times, for four ancestors, even though I had their correct death dates from the cemeteries, and the dates fell within the parameters required by the State. Linda: The History of Washtenaw County (1881) lists various Sperry's. Do you have info from this book? Does not say where they are buried, but lots of other info, tidbits. United Memorial Gardens has been very cooperative and you should have no trouble in getting the information you want. If there is a problem let me know. I am currently working on a history of UMG with their help so I do have an in. Regards.

I have ordered death certificates without having to prove a relationship or give a reason. I have even ordered death certificates of non related people.....and did so just a few weeks ago for my friend because she didnt have the time or a credit card. If you have lost money ordering through the state of Michigan, call them and raise a big stink. If you can prove you paid then they have to find what you are looking for or refund your money. $13 is $13......I give them a hard time at Walmart if I am overcharg
