2. [MIWASHTE] Bentons, Lowrys [1]
Hello Washtenaw List: I am looking for anything and anyone on Bentons in Washtenaw County, especially descendants who wish to correspond. Also John and/or Peter Lowry of Saline Ann Arbor Road and their descendants. Have good pictures of these families; I should really look through the albums and simply list people pictured -- perhaps others should consider the same thing, or perhaps we should jointly begin a master list of early Washtenaw settlers whose pictures we own. Jim Smith Benton

5. Re: [MIWASHTE] New to List [1]
Dear Robin, Vital records, as registered in the State of Michigan, begin in 1867. In most counties there are various courthouse records. For instance, Washtenaw Marriages begin about 1830 (a few before). Our circuit court records are intact (not filmed), our probate records are intact (not filmed). Our land records are intact (not filmed). So there are courthouse records. We have some filmed church records and most churches have not filmed church records. Visit our website http://www.hvcn.org/i

7. [MIWASHTE] Re: MIWASHTE-D Digest V02 #80 [1]
Hello I'm new to this list, also trying to find info from 1930 census. Looking for Oscar and Luthera PICKERING, who lived at 1012 S. Forest Avenue in Ann Arbor (per 1927 and 1932 city directories). Also looking for Harold and Zelma PICKERING, who lived at 720 Haven Avenue in Ann Arbor (per 1932 and 1933 city directories). In order to check the 1930 census, as you probably know, I need an ED (Enumeration District) number....does anyone know how/where I can find that for the above listed addresses
8. [MIWASHTE] Schumacher, McGuire, Benson, LeBaron & Fisher on web page [1]
Good morning to all, I finally have the gedcoms up on our web page. There are more names on there than what is listed so if you have a few moments to spare I would like to invite you over to peruse our web page. If you find you have a connection I would love to hear from you. If you know of any sources that would have photos of families involved I would be so appreciative to hear from you. These are my husband's lines and I don't have any photos for them. I would be more than happy to post them to the web
9. Re: [MIWASHTE] 1910 Census Wards [1]
There is information in the front of each city directory that gives the streets included in each ward. A 1910 directory should help you. Joyce Ridgway, Napa, California

Marti, Hi. I have LOTS on the Miller's, but nothing on the Wenk's. Do you know the marriage date on Estella and Arthur. Estella Miller Wenk was my cousin, whom I never knew. If you are curious about the Millers or myself, please contact me at the email provided. I would love to "chat". By the way, what state are you in? I am in Arkansas, and my father (Ray

16. [MIWASHTE] Lyman Rose [1]
Lyman ROSE lived in Augusta, Washtenaw County according to the 1850, 1860 and 1870 census. He apparently died sometime between a 1870 and 1880 as his family is in Missawkee County in 1880 and his wife, Louisa is listed as a widow. What cemeteries were in the Augusta area at that time? Does anyone know if there are cemetery transcription books that would have these cemeteries listed?
17. [MIWASHTE] Washtenaw County Webpage [1]
Hello! I went to the website for Washtenaw County and it said the Website address was invalid. Does anybody have the correct Website address? I am interested in corresponding w/someone who is a member of the Genealogy Society for Washtenaw County. I myself do not live in Washtenaw County nor has any of my ancestors settled there (so far!). I am however, teaching a class in Washtenaw County and would like to find someone who can come tell the Washtenaw County residents I am teaching what the society has
18. Re: [MIWASHTE] Death record look-up Phelan Washtenaw County [1]
Judy, You did not happen to record the death years as well? GSWC has death returns to about 1914 on microfilm and copies could be made. I am suspicious of Pearl Phelan's 1935 death record in book 4 as sometime after 1914 the county indexed deaths only by year and page number. Volume/Book 4 only goes to 1914. If you need copies for deaths after 1914, I would recommend that you contact the Washtenaw County Clerk/Register's Office https://www.ewashtenawco.com/servlet/VitalRec You can order them on-line. J

Dear Paulette: Thank you for the inscriptions from Forest Lawn Dexter. I love that spot, and know it well, and will probably be buried there myself. If you find anything else on this family, which is precisely the Benton family I am interested in, please let me know. 22. [MIWASHTE] Finding an ED for 1930 [1]
I have just been working in Salt Lake City on the 1930 Census and learned a few tricks for the bigger cities, but it does not include Ann Arbor. I used it for Detroit and it worked pretty well. First you need to find the address in 1930 using a city directory, something which was easy in Salt Lake City, but difficult for those far away. Then go to this site: http://home.pacbell.net/spmorse/census/ It takes some patience, but you should get a list of EDs that contain your street. Here follow
