Would someone with a Detroit/Wayne Co., MI death index please look for the following:
WILLIAM MONKS or WM H. MONKS
buried 2 May 1917 in Forest Lawn Cemetery, grave 648, section 28.
I believe he was in his 20's. He is my grandfather and no one knows a thing about him but a small piece of paper from Forest Lawn Cemetery. I am assuming it is the one located in Detroit.
Greatly appreciate time and effort.

Hi Lisa and Jean, in 2001 I went to the Local LDS and the had the marriages
listed on microfilm and I found that my Grandparents were listed as Curt and
Molly. Gram had used her nickname on the marriage application and that's why
I couldn't find them. Then I checked the Ellis Island site and yep there she
was coming in 3 yrs later than him.
That was a real stroke of luck.

I've been trying to locate the death record of an ancestor who died in 1903

also noticed that there were hardly any Detroit deaths listed compared to
other townships. Does anyone know if the FHC has microfilm for just the
Detroit area during this time period? I've tried to search the catalogue
online but all I keep coming up with is the Wayne Co. microfilm. I'm new at
searching the FHC records and am probably doing somethi

I recall hearing about a Detroit or Wayne County Death Index which was
either online or at the Burton's Library. I would like to know how to
access it so I can look up Andrew KUCZMA who died around 1935.
Could someone enlighten me about this Death Index, what years it covers.

I am trying to find information about my great grand parents. David and Maude Letourneau. David and parents moved to Detroit from Canada about 1875. Maude and her parents also from Canada in about 1880. Maude and David married about 1891 or 92. They had 9 children. They moved from Detroit before 1910. They lived at 29 Henry St in River Rouge for the remainder of there lives. I am trying to find where they were buried. and when they passed away I think in the 1950's. I know they went to the Our Lady of Lord
I have a death notice for an Adam Cetnar whom died on Aug. 7, 1925 at Grace
Hospital. I sent away for a Death Certificate and they say they do not have
one for him. I know I gave them the exact date of death. I also have a
picture of his grave maker which is at Mount Olivet. Is it possible that the
state of Michigan does not have a death certificate for him? Is there
another way of finding out if there is one somewhere else?
