There are 2 cemeteries that have borne the name of Maple Grove.
The Brooklyn & Maple Grove Union Cemetery, also known as the American
Cemetery, is just south of Highway 81 and just west of Jefferson Highway. If I
recall, my mother's uncle told me that his grandparents were buried in the South
Maple Grove cemetery, and this is the one where I found them buried.
BTW - this cemetery is connected to St Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, all
enclosed within one fence, but they are 2 separate cemet
A worse problem than the Stableton/Hableton puzzle is that the baby's
father's name appears to be misspelled. Fogrety in baptism records,
Fogerty in the census.

Hi Claudia,
I don't believe there is a cemetery there named "South" Maple Grove either.
What is the time period for this cemetery? Now or before the turn of the
century? Was this a country cemetery (where someone who lived/died nearby was
buried) or was the cemetery associated with a specific religion (where s
omeone who attended the church -- no mattter where they lived -- was buried?)
Maybe more "speculative" research can uncover the correct cemetery.
A guess would be that this term
I am searching for living relatives of the following for a friend in
Denmark:
Catherine Cristine Andreassen who immigrated to Hopkins in the 1880s or
so. She had two daughters, Lezzie (SP?) and Maria Andreassen. One of
them married an Emil Peterson who lived at 122-6th Avenue N. in Hopkins
in 1928.
Emil and his wife had the following children:
Raymond, Lawrence, Ivan, Muriel, Beatrice and Inez (Mrs. Fred Nelson).
Muriel married a man whose last name was Amundson and his first name may

All sorts of 'misspellings' occur in early records, which is why
researchers have to be dogged in searching, especially in all the
on-line indexes. It's also the reason why all the books and lecturers
say to consult the original records. In other places in the same
register, the father's surname is spelled Fogarty -- just what is the
'correct' spelling? At least in an index, these different
spellings all have the same Soundex code and will also show up
relatively close together in a printed index,
Hi Shawne, do you still have this book? If so, is there a Clarence (Clare,
Clare O.) Peterson listed? Company might be Northwest Airlines.
Thank you for the look up.

Wow! I would love a copy! Thank you so much for your help.

What religion was he affiliated with?
I would like to find out what church this Minister of the Gospel would
affeciate at. The marriage was in Dec. 1926 in Minneapolis.

I suspect she's trying to find that out by
associating the address with the church
denomination at that address.

Patricia,
I live in Washington. Maybe I'll call the high school and see if they can do a little checking for me.
I'm not a member of Ancestry.com. Is the 1925 book scanned or does it just give the names of students?
Thanks for your help,

Thanks to Mary Bakeman for introducing the topic of St. Anthony of Padua
parish in NE Minneapolis. Besides my interest in genealogy, I am also a
Minneapolis history buff.
I believe that St. Anthony of Padua RC parish is the oldest in
Minneapolis. It started out in St. Anthony - the cities of Minneapolis
and St. Anthony merged in the 1860s so all of 'old' St. Anthony became
part of the City of Minneapolis. (There is a suburb of St. Anthony next
to Minneapolis on the ne corner - this sometimes confu
If you will give me some details on the Andersons, such as their names,
ages, etc., I'll check the 1930 census for you. I don't have a directory,
but the census will have the address.

I haven't done any searching in the 1930 census...wondering if anyone can offer suggestions. I'd like to know if Andersons were still at 4417 5th St. NE (Minneapolis) in April 1930 -- if anyone has a city directory, or any other information, I'd appreciate knowing.

I've "rescued" an old photograph of Annie HANSON and a six year old girl
identified only as F. A. H. on the back of the photograph. The photograph
was taken at the S. E. Olson Co. Studio in Minneapolis, likely sometime in
the 1890's with Annie appearing to be in her 20's or 30's at the time the
photograph was taken. I'm guessing that the pair are Mother and daughter;
however, I don't know that for sure.
I'm hoping to locate someone from this HANSON Family so that this wonderful

Shawn,
If you are near Minneapolis you can check with South High. I went to the high school and looked at copies they have of the yearbooks for those years. Ancestry.com now has the 1925 book but I don't see 1926-30. You also could check with the Hennepin County Historical society to see what they have in their collection.

If Richard lived on a RR track, i suppose he died when a train struck
him, and there should be an obit; cemetery records too.
Regardless, MN Biographies of 1912: Thomas E. Cashman, b. near Owatonna
