Hi All,
I'm researching a John K. Ayd, sometimes called "Cajetan" Ayd. He was the leader of a group of immigrants that left Ersingen, Baden, Germany in 1840. They originally settled in Hamilton County, IL. He moved to Ramsey County, MN in 1854 as the leader of a sub-group of German immigrants from Hamilton County, IL. In 1861 he purchased 125 acres of land in Wright County, MN near the Crow River. I have read elsewhere that the group lead by John "Cajetan" Ayd founded the town of Aydtstown, MN in Wrigh
Hi to whoever can help me,
I received an E-mail this afternoon from a Ken Weber (KCWKEN@aol.com)
I have information on the John K. Ayd that he was looking for which I
have tried twice to send to him. Both times it has come back as
"undeliverable" although I sent it as a "REPLY" to his E-mail so it
should have gotten to him. I'm sure the gentleman he is looking for is a
great uncle of mine and I could help him with quite a bit of
information..
Is their any way you can get his correct E-mail address to
In my ongoing research of my Lyons / Cameron families I have come across some
information about Harrison Lyons. It seems that before he enlisted in the
1st Minnesota Volunteers at the age of 19 in 1861, he was involved in
fighting or chasing Inkpaduta the Indian Chief who had massacred 30+ white
settlers at Spirit Lake Iowa.
This Chief was considered the terror of many. In the real story he did the
things that made him feared but only at the constant cruelty of the
authorities of the day against h

Ken, I am interested in any information about the Fred Weber you mention in
your recent post to the Wright County MN page. You mentioned he was from ST.
Paul.
Was Fred Weber a son of John Weber, that lived in Franklin Twp, Wright County
in the late 1800s. John had several sons that left the area.

Hi Ken,
I looked up the Aydt name in the history book, Otsego In the Beginning 1852 to 1880 published by the Otsego Herita
I am pleased to announce that I have finally found the final resting place
for John and Millie Cameron. In 1892 they moved to Delano, MN. and lived
there for three years until John died. He is buried in St. Peters Cemetery
in an "unmarked" grave. Millie and the four kids moved to Minneapolis in
1895. Millie died in 1897 and was sent to Delano for burial. She is buried
in a different Cemetery than John. A wonderful man by the name of Mr.
Rieland did the research for me. He read to me over the ph
