I believe this flu (Spanish flu?) killed people nationwide and in Europe.
The service men of the first world war brought it home with them. My uncle
died from it while in France in the service.

I am looking for information on my great grandparents
Elmer and Mattie O. Bohannon were from the county of Putnam, MO. They had several children that were born all around. I looking for Artie Bohannon. Born around 1904 in Wyoming and married Hazel N Young Barker. He lived in Meade Kansas and ended up in the informatory in KS 1929. There were three children born to Artie and Hazel. They may have been divorced around the early 30's. I'm trying to see if the Artie Bohannon is the right one in Douglas
Donna and Sandra,
Donna,
so far I have not discovered any of "my" Smith family in either Oregon or Howell Counties of Missouri.
Sandra,
John Smith married about 1845, Nancy Looney Robberson {widow of John Robberson} in Greene County, MO. This Robberson was from the area known as Robberson's Prairie in Greene County, close to the Polk County line. John Smith and Nancy took the Robberson children with them when they migrated to Lane County, Oregon. I do not know if they used the Oregon Trail, or wen
Does anyone know who the first settlers of New Harmony MO were? Were
they from New Harmony IN? That was a utopian community founded by
Owen. They were called Owenites. I know there were many offshoots.
Was New Harmony MO one of them? . . . My ancestor there was Malissa
Kenan/Kennen.
Hi Margaret, This is Phyllis Johnson who posted the item abt. Joshua
Roberts. I was told ( oral history ) that this family died of a Flu epidemic but ----
I can find no true epidemic listed for that area of Mo until 1918-19. I
suppose it is possible they died of the Flu but not of epidemic proportion or
they died of something not the Flu ---- misdiagnosed. I stated it that way
thinking it might be handed down in family history with that story attached and
someone would recognize it.
Pat,
The Short family that I have goes back to Roane Co., TN
Working from nearest to farthest:We are the Phillips line through Monroe's son Franklin Smiley Phillips b. 11 Aug 1884 d. 16 Jan 1919
Monroe Phillips (2 Oct 1857) married Sarah Elizabeth Short (22 Nov 1858)
Sarah's parents were Francis Smiley SHORT (17 Oct 1819) Roane Co., TN and Deborah McPHERSON (7 Apr 1821)
Francis' parents were Willis SHORT (18 May 1795) and Nancy KENDRICK ( 25 May 1800); Francis migrated to Sarcoxie, MO.

Yes, there was, but there were many reasons kids & others died in Brooklyn.
Both my gr-grandparents and grandparents had 11 kids each and all lived
in Brooklyn. Lots of them died. I've been researching this area. Do
you have names and have you been able to find them.

I'm wondering about the Robbersons of Greene County. Leonard Robberson,
1899-1959, married my relative, Cynthia Elizabeth "Betha" Smith, 1902-1965.
They are buried at the National Cemetery in Springfield. I have no
information on this Robberson family, but have a lot on her. She was the
family historian for several allied families.
Just curious if you research this same Robberson family.
