1. [MO-VETERANS] Fort Belle Fontaine [1]
Just uploaded a new page on the history Fort Belle Fontaine. New photos of the site including panoramic views and even a photo of the "Beautiful Fountain" spring itself. Right now I am in search of rosters of soldiers stationed there. I know they must be a national archives micro film roll out there some place. However I did manage to find a roster of a officers of a militia "rangers" company that heralded from the area of the fort. Should have those up sometime this week. **I would be interested in inclu
2. [MO-VETERANS] WWII: American Battlefield Monuments Commission [1]
I do not want to beat a dead horse, but to help those that requested lookups I also found a complete listing of American WWII soldiers buried in overseas cemeteries (172,218 soldiers). Even includes a photo of the cemetery each soldier is at: http://www.abmc.gov/abmc45.htm I just did a search on surname "Johnson" and it turned up 1,055 individuals. Williams: 796 Smith: 1,641 Jones: 790 This site combined with http://www.accessgenealogy.com/worldwar/missouri/index.htm should be the best source available. I
3. [MO-VETERANS] WWI units [1]
I have a question about the following unit from Henry County, they were Missouri National Guard or Reservist and called up in Aug 1917 2nd Infantry, Company F were men primarily of Clinton They were assigned to the 35th Division, under the 311th Calvary. They saw action at Argonne Forest I have found some tid-bits on the 35 Div., but no mention of the 311th Calvary. From what I understand many units were placed in the 42nd "Rainbow" Div. I'm a complete novice on WW I ... so any help would be appreciated T

Sorry, hit the wrong key before. I am looking for information on these two gentlemen during the civil war. They were living in Lincoln County at the time of the Civil War. Do you need any other information about them?? Thank You very much
6. [MO-VETERANS] First Quarterly Report for 2002 [1]
Dear List Members, The First Quarterly Report for 2002 is going to be just a little different than the one I usually send to the Mailing Lists I take care of. I tore my Rotator Cuff in November of last year and I find that I cannot spend long hours typing on the computer during the healing process, therefore I am going to send out one message to all of my lists and skip posting the membership numbers this time. I promise to get back to our normal reporting next quarter. Typing over 200 messages is just
7. Re: [MO-VETERANS] JEFFERSON BARRACKS [1]
Go to www.interment.net and choose (in this order): 1) United States 2) Missouri 3) Saint Louis 4) Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery The burials are sorted by the first initial of the surnames. The address and phone number are listed on the page with a link that will take you to a map. If your man is not in the database, you can write the cemetery directly to request information. You can also request a map of the cemetery so you can mark the location of your ancestor's burial site. Good luck. S
8. [MO-VETERANS] WWII Records on CD from Ancestry.com [1]
Anyone get the new Ancestry World War II/Korea Overseas Internment CD ? I have it and I found an apparently big flaw. The CD includes no common surnames like Williams, Smith, and Jones. But when I do a search on an uncommon name in my family tree such as "Luce", it turns up 17 records. While this probably is correct for Luce, the more common surnames should number in the hundreds. Anyone else have problems with this CD ? It is a big disappointment, even for the $10 it sold for. Scott Williams Florissant,
9. [MO-VETERANS] JEFFERSON BARRACKS [1]
I am seeking info on my Civil War relative who I believe may be buried at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis. He was Harvey Johnson, Union soldier who was killed at the Battle of Salem, Dent Co. MO on 3 Dec 1861. The men killed in this battle may have been buried at Rolla first, then moved at some later time to Jefferson Barracks. I would like to find out about Jefferson Barracks. Is this a National Cemetery? Is there a mailing address (snail or e-mail) which would assist me. Also, would there b
