Sharol, Yes, it is showing in connection with the Fly family. It may be in other places as well. Penny
4. Re: [MOBARRY-L] sur-names [1]
Penny, Does this book have an index? It would seem to me that you could possibly spend most of your time responding to all these many requests. If it doesn't have an index, maybe you could create one and then put in out on the LIST or make it available on a website. It would also clean up the list with all these single requests. What do you think? Wayne Dykstra Pkbailey wrote: >Bri, >Lawson, Williams and Bowman show up in several files. >Laughlin and Pippin show in a few. >Rose is confusing. It show

I may be too late for your book, just now reading my e-mail. I have connection with B.J. Betterton & Mary Whittington. The spelling of Betterton is incorrect it should be Betterton. Thank you for all your hard work. Shairon Allen jbsmba60@aol.com
7. Re: [MOBARRY-L] Simon Hiram Long/James [1]
The book "Barry County Pioneers and Beyond" is the newest. It is 933 pages, and is would be used for genealogy. "A Glance Back in Time" is still at the printers. (but I am hoping it will be out by the time I get home the 1st of Aug.) Georgia Ball Farwell combind all the stories that have appeared in the Quarterlies over the years, cleaned them up (using the orginal pictures where possible) and turned it into a book for the society. This is one I am really looking forward to. Plus the cost is only $12.00

13. [MOBARRY-L] Burial Listings [1]
If someone was living in the Washburn area and died between 1920 and 1930 would the burial be listed in townhall or just cemetery books. Doubt there is a grave marker. Cannot locate info on Chastain also mispelled Crastain "Bud" Williams, longtime resident of Barry County. No, I am not directly connected to the James family. My Uncle Millard Whisman, married Aunt Maudie James (daughter of Francis Ashberry James,Jr. and Nannie Epperly) and there is several other connections like this as well. Plus, the Cooper farm is not far from the original James place South of Shell Knob. I have not heard of a James reunion as yet. There is a "cousin reunion" held every year about that time and the 1 time I was able to attend several of the James Family was there. I will let you know
15. Re: [MOBARRY-L] sur-names [1]
There will be a index. Hopefully, it will be ready before long (but, no promises). When I was at the meeting last week there was talk of putting it out in the quarterly, and I am sure no one would object to my putting it on the web-sight as well. I could make one, but I don't want to push in when another person has it started. Until then I have no problem looking up sur-names. (I have even found a few distant cousins in the process) Penny

Yes I live in calif. and its worse than that . We are suppose to have a certified proof of who we are to buy birth or death certificates as we can only get birth certificates if we are closely related---.such as a spouse, child or grandchild so needless to say I did alot of purchasing before the dead line (July 1). Anita, I noticed that you are researching the name Bennett. What branch of the Bennett tree are you looking for? I have a Lindsey Bennett (1793-1867) who married a Rachel Oakley in Barry County on 13 Mar 1852. I have a Columbia Bennett (f) that was married in Newton Cty, MO that I have been trying to find out more information on. I have some other Bennetts from Stoddard Cty, that have direct connection to my mother's side of the tree. I's be willing to share more as needed. Wayne From sunny Arizona A

Is there anyone on this list that is related to any of the Barry County Gurley's? I have been looking for pictures of some of the Gurley's. The one that I would like the most is Walter Gurley and his brother's and parents. Walter Gurley I have found out is my great-grandfather. So I guess most of the Gurley's in Barry during the late 1800's and early 1900's are part of my family line. Could some one please help me with any pictures. I don't care if they are scanned or what. Just would like to see what they
