I can't say this is absolutely directly related to Barry County, so Imaybe I shouldn't mention that it appears Ancestry.com has free access to records for a few days.
Celebrate the New Year searching for your Barry County records that might be there, right? There may be a few there that aren't already provided by the marvelous work of Donna and the great volunteer group she has recruited. Good luck.

Donna, I think this was an old speech. Try going to the Monett Times and
then the Archives and searching under "stagecoach" or Emory Melton.

This situation is not uncommon. I have ran into it before with my family. My father died in California in 1954, his funeral was at Bennet Wormington in Monett, and burial in Oak Hill in Cassville, his obit was in the Monett paper. My grandmother died in Souix City Iowa, in 1953, funeral at Bennet Wormington, burial in Oak Hill, obit in the Joplin Globe.
I have several family members in Monett IOOF and have pics of their markers if you need them. Sometimes the confusion comes because Barry Co. residents ar

I'm here. I hope everyone had a good Christmas!
I don't remember how many there were. I have deleted them from my computer
due to limited space.
I had hoped to get out to the cemeteries over Christmas break but that
hasn't been the case so far. Maybe after the first of the year.

I've "rescued" an old photograph of E. D. NEELY which was taken at the Rhine
Studio in Fort Worth, Texas. The photograph appears to have been taken in
the 1870's or 1880's with Mr. NEELY appearing to be in his 60's or 70's at
the time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate E. D.
NEELY in the census records as follows:
1870 census of Flat Creek, MO:
E. D. NEELY, age 44, a Farmer, born KY
Julia W. NEELY, age 44, born KY
James NEELY, age 23, born KY
K. V. NEELY, age 19, born
Wasn't it in 1912 that Roosevelt split from the
Republican Party and his own successor, William Howard
Taft, to run on a third party ticket representing the
Bull Moose Party? If I'm right on the year, I would
think he was on a tour to promote his candidacy.

Hi,
I like have the gravestone pictures and the obits the most as they help with
information and documention , yet the school group pictures are very much of
a great value to me as my family lived in Monett for many years and some of
the older family still dose and none of us have any pictures of the family
in the 30s and 40s and I have found 2 of my family members in these so for
those of us that have no old family pictures these are really wonderful.
I want to say thank you to all who are working so

Donna,
I am wanting to post a letter on the MOBARRY site to try to gather
information on my ancestors. I'm still not sure of the proper format. In
other words, I don't know if I just send this letter to you, or if there
is another mechanism I should use. Here is my request:
I am interested in contacting any individuals that would have background
information on the Murray family of Barry County, MO. John Franklin

Thanks for the postings for the Chitwood Cemetery.
Could you look at the picture of the stone posted as Joseph Davidson again. I believe this stone is JOSIAH Davidson. The date of birth and death is correct for JOSIAH.
You also posted the family group picture of Josiah and Elizabeth Caroline DePriest Davidson not too long ago submitted by Renee Schaeffer.
