Eleven shots were fired, 4 hitting each man. Gunn died during the duel, Farrow lived for half an hour. Farrow had .44 Colt. Gunn had .38 Smith & Wesson. Altho the immediate cause of the duel was politics, there had been ill will for many years regarding a potato crop.
