Hi Mary, I'm interested in your Ison post. I do not know if there is any connection but I am looking for the family of my Nancy Sanders/Saunders b: ca 1830 that m: Chesley B. Gray b: ca 1830. Nancy and Chesley were in Cass Co. on the 1860 census. Nancy died in 1860 after having my g grandfather Alonzo C. Gray in 1857. Ancestry.com is offering online images of Civil War pension cards at no charge until tomorrow, July 21. I successfully located the card for my gggrandfather, William R. Johnston/Johnson after more than a year of dismally fruitless research. Now I have the specifics on his regiment and can finally order his records from NARA.
