I'm thinking that could be Little Shoal Cemetery: http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=39.21500&lon=-94.52556&datum=NAD27&s=50&size=l Let me know if you find that it is gone, but I'm afraid there is nothing I can do about it. I'm just an interested party. Mike Flannigan On Tue, 18 Apr 2006, jomorgan@swbell.net wrote: >Hi. The University of Missouri has the second largest collection of newspapers on microfilm. This is a great source to check out. 8. Smithville newspapers ca. 1890's [0.986792]
Hi. I'm trying to find out if there are any newspapers extant from Smithville, MO from about 1894. If anyone knows if there are any from that era, could you please tell me where I could view them? Thanks so much! Diane

My husband went to take a look at the old cemetery. It is truly gone. The old wrought iron fence once surrounding it, has been run over so many times there is not a section salvageable. The large stone is gone, and there is a pit about 12' deep, where all the graves were. I know that no one was ever buried 12' deep, so they are gone, to where, I have no clue. 10. wondering about a cemetery [0.986792]
Hi. A couple of years ago, my husband found a small cemetery with 2 or 3 tombstones and a few stones that were evidently child markers. The names on the stones were WASER. These were at the corner of N. Brighton & Pleasant Valley Roads in Clay Co., MO. Because he pointed out the stones to me, I could see them under an old tree, and every time I passed there, I would look for them and see them. At the time, I believe that large corner lot was up for sale. It sold over a year ago, but until fairly recently,

Joanne - I am forwarding your message to the Clay county Archives. There is a gentleman there who is familiar with this cemetary, Karen jomorgan wrote: Hi. This is not the Little Shoal Cemetery. The Little Shoal Cemetery is located at 291 Highway and Old Flintlock Rd. Yes, it's illegal in MO. Developers are subject to a $50,000 fine for disturbing a cemetery. Not sure who to tell you to contact. --- MOCLAY-D-request@rootsweb.com wrote: > Isn't this illegal?
15. cemetery [0.986792]
In Ky it is illegal mainly thanks to the Jessamine Co Historical Society who got the law passed first in Jessamine Co then it became a state law to destroy a cemetery or build within so many feet of it (forgot exact number of feet) Not sure about Mo but not too late as developers move in more will be destroyed if there is no law or no one to say something
