The Hudson name is sometimes used. We determine this change by use of familiar given names in familiar locations. Our earliest known ancestor, George Hutson of Old Pendleton Co., SC, used the Hutson form and most descendants did as well. George's descendants and wife, Creasey, went to White Co., Tennessee by 1812, including the David and William Hutson who came to Cole Co. They were born in South Carolina. You might Contact Mark Schreiber, an employee at the Pen, he and Judge Jim McHenry (recently deceased) did some research in this area. Also check with the various offices in the Cole County Court House, such as Recorder of Deeds, County Clerk, Cole County Commission. Might also want to contact the Missouri Dept. of Corrections. bk

Hi A large source of leads to family-history data is now on line. It is comprised of the Tables of Contents of the first 22 volumes of the Missouri State Genealogical Association Journal, 1981-2002+. Importantly, below the Tables of Contents, is an index. Reviewers find the whole page easily navigated despite the great amount of data included. A few of the key words with which to search the index are county names, directions (east, south, north, west), and family surnames (for Bible records). Us

I'd apprecaite anything you care to share. Bonnie Reach.
