Am wondering if someone on the list that has the Cem Book for Boles Twp. Would they mind checking the book for the following names, Rolin Dever Johnson, Isabel Marie Johnson, Louara M Johnson. They show up on the 1910 census for Boles Twp and then I can not locate them after that on either the 1920 or 1930 census, for anywhere in the U.S. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Cheap talk? Richard, did you find his death certificate. I wonder if he had moved somewhere else and then came back and was buried in Franklin County. that happened to one side of my family. She died in Chicago IL and was buried at Mitchell cemetery in Franklin County according to her death certificate but I couldn't find the grave of her or her husband who also said he was there. I saw this on another list and tried it out. Use the link below to go to the ancestry site. When you get to the ancestry page, click on the second red box that reads something like "begin today". It will take you to a page to build your family tree. I'm not big on online trees - I just put in a name and then clicked next through the next several tree building pages until it said congratulations you've built your tree. Then went to the top of the page and started searching. (Thought I'd mention t
8. Re: [MOFRANKL] Burial Question [1]
Yes, usually arrangements are made ahead of time as they are buried in the same grave and the grave must be dug deep enough to allow for the burials. Also dependent children may be buried in the same grave as well. My aunt and uncle are buried in the same grave in Arlington National Cem. and my cousin who died way back in 1958 was buried there first, then my aunt in 1997 and finally my uncle in 2003. My mother and father are buried together at Riverside National Cem. and my sister who is defined as a depend
9. Re: [MOFRANKL] rural schools of Franklin County [1]
My mother was a teacher in a one room school, 1940. "Frisco Heights", This was what she called a line school. My understanding is, from what she told me: A piece of land was set aside, which I guess would be called no mans land. This could be used for schools, Phone lines, electric etc. It was located not far from Robertville, Mo. close to the Meramac River. Friesco Heights was where she received her elementary education, she than drove to Gray Summit, Mo. There she caught the bus to attend High Sc

I read with much interest about your Upcoming Local History Class at ECC. I am a native of Washington, Missouri, but have lived in Florida for over 50 years. I went to school with Harold Wilke, and I would love to be able to hear the presentation about his life, but I'm 88 now and don't get back to Missouri. I'll never forget Harold, and wish I could know more about his life after our school years. Marjorie Meyers Wagner,

Sue: Since you said "please" three times, I will be happy to give you some information about my family and me, and especially about Harold Wilke and some of our school days spent at Washington High School. It wouldn't be proper to send you this through the above e-mail address since it goes through the Franklin County list. However, if you will give me your personal e-mail address, I can send it that way. Or if you wish I could send it to you by your snail mail address. As you

Jackie "O"; I checked my Mitchell records and no Claspills are listed - in fact, there are no Claspills listed in Calvey township or Franklin County cemeteries. Have you checked local newspapers for an obituary? Just a thought, but have you looking in St. Louis County or Jefferson County for a Mitchell Cemetery? I have several death certificates that state the person is to be buried in __ Cemetery, only to find later that they are buried someplace else. (Case in point - my grandmother had 9 child

Glenn and Sue - My family moved into an abandoned farm house in Franklin county in 1931 after my father,, Roy Van Leer, finished his carpenter job building the Bagnell dam that backs up the Lake of the Ozarks. This was 1931, near the bottom of the Great Depression. In that year there was no building and thus no need for carpenters and my father's brother Ernest, a farmer, had this old farm house and lent it to his brother. I started first grade at Jeffriesburg School located on Old Casco Road near th
