Tarney,
Thanks so very much for the info. I noticed on the MO state archive birth and death site a birth record for one of Scipio and Eudora's children and other Smiths. 17 June 1872, male...record returned by Henrietta White. If you don't have it, you should take a look. www.sos.mo.gov/arch

Gasconade is not far away...I may stop over and pick the deeds up. I looked at the birth record again and Henrietta was actually listed as the Medical Attendant. She may have been a practicing mid-wife.

I have a tiny bit to add about Adam Muskat. In 1840, my husband's gg grandfather Henry Smith purchased two different parcels of land from him in Gasconade County. One parcel contained 125.31 acres and the other was 34.6 acres. The spelling was "Muscat" on those deeds.

Every little bit helps put the bigger picture together. Would you happen to have the dates of sale on those deeds and was the sale in Gasconade or St. Louis? Is this the Henry Smith who married Jane Watson and then Mary Ann Sorrell?

The birth record is for Lawrence Jackson Smith, who was my husband's uncle. Henrietta White was his grandmother.

Does anyone have a listing of the graves for the Little Berger Cemetery?
Thanks

I think I saw something a few weeks ago about an updated Gasconade County
Cemetery Book. If so, could someone tell me where to write to order one
and how much they cost.
Thank you.

Is there an Elizabeth Jane Baker listed (after 1880)?
She was living with her daughter and son-in-law Edgar and Jane Norris, in
1880 in Gasconade.
On that census, she was listed as Jane Booker.

It is interesting to note that August C. and Ella Boehm are listed in
Hermann City Cemetery, but they are actually buried in Greenlawn North,
Springfield, Greene County, MO. They were my great grandparents. They were
born in Bay, Gasconade County, MO, but moved to Springfield in 1910. I
wonder if they already had a stone, but then why wouldn't they have been
buried there when they died? Could it be a new family plot had already been
established afterwards?
Thanks
