Lauren,
There are many sites on the web where you can search productively for
information about Archibald Payne and his two wives and their children.
First, go the the site maintained by the Springfield-Greene County library and
search through their on-line local history resources, particularly the Greene
County histories.
Check out what is available through the Greene County archives--accessible
through the library website. Archibald brought his family to southwest
Missouri in the 1830's, unti

I would be interested. I attended Reed in 1988. That would be neat to see
how much the School changed from '43 to when I was there in '88.
If its not too much trouble, I'd like to have a copy.
Thanks,

My kids actually attend Reed currently. There are group pictures for every year from about the 1920s to about the early 2000s (at least assume all years are there). They haven't done them in the last couple of years. These pictures hang on the walls throughout the school. If anyone wanted me to take a picture of one I could probably arrange it. Like I said I don't know if all the years are there. And they are strung out throughout the school and not in year order so it's no telling where say the pictu
I've "rescued" an old photograph of the Frank WEBB Family which was taken at
the New York Portrait Co. Studio in Springfield, Missouri. The photograph
was likely taken in the 1890's the Frank appearing to be in his 30's or 40's
and the five children pictured with him ranging in age from about 4 - 9
years of age. The two youngest are girls and the three oldest children all
boys.
In addition to his name some has written "wife Lizzie WEBB was Mother's
cousin" on the back of the photograph. Also recovere

I'm trying to find descendants of Enoch Thomas Epps b. 1857 & wife, Lottie Mahala Morris b. 1875 in MO. Their son, Lester Bryon, died in Greene Co in 1979.
I've been tracking Lottie Morris & her ancestors for a long time; trying to find living descendants to share genealogy information. So far no luck!
I descend from Margaret Burns Morris Gossett - Lottie's father (Jessie) was her grandson by her 1st marriage.
Any help or leads would be appreciated.
I have different information about Sarah Payne, the youngest child of
Archibald Payne and Tinny Jane Hartley, than that offered by Kerry McGrath, my
friend and collaborator on the Hartley/Ray families.
I only show that Sarah Payne was born in 1841 or 1842. By 1860, she is no
longer in her father's home in Porter Township, Christian Co. It is possible
that she became the second and much younger wife of Thomas Brazeale, who is
living next door to her father. Thomas Brazeale is a likely relation o
Lauren,
Sounds like you took my suggestions in the spirit with which they were given.
My apologies, I have been lax in posting email address changes on various list-

apologies for the silence. Am glad I did the posting though because it got
Randy up and moving with his corrections. Also, it underscores the fact that
you cannot rely exclusively on secondary/tertiary sources.

I knew some of the kids from Reed that year. I would enjoy the picture. Do
you have them named? I don't know after all these years if I could point
them out, but still would like to see the picture.
Thanks,

Dear Mr. McGrath
I did not ask for anyone to do my research for me. I was just wondering if anyone had been working on the Payne family because I want to start on the Payne's, and if you had checked your e-mail at clgperson@msn.com you would see the two (2) e-mails that I send you about this family over a month ago. The e-mail that you just sent I all ready have that from the e-mail on the Greene Co., mailing list on Sun, 23 May 2004. As I type this I am in Greene Co., (for a break from college) doi
