I don't know when the state started issuing them but
my guess is that you can get it from the county for
one that early.

Noticed your MALOY ancestor. I have a MOLLOY or MALOY in our ANDREWS/ANDERS
family that migrated from GA to eastern ARK mid-1850s.
Do you think some of you MALOYs could have ended up a little south of
Missouri along the Mississippi Delta in area of Brinkley, Arkansas?
I have a photo identified on back as JOHN MALOY among photos that belonged
to my great-grandmother CLARA COOPER Mc LAIN (b1878 AR) and her mother
PARTHENIA ANDREWS /ANDERS COOPER (b1834 GA, d 1915 AR). Parthenia had

Was wondering if someone could help me find a John Renner (Born abt 1868) . He is shown in the 1930 Census with his wife, Ida , daughter Johnie Virginia, & step-son, Hudson Franklin. The address was 1219 East Mill Street. He was a worker at the City Dump Yard. I need to find out when and where he is buried if at all possible. Does anyone know just how I can go about finding this information out for Greene Co, MO??
Thanks so much!

Wilma,
I did a little searching around for your Mitchell's. I find in my own
research women are really hard to research. I always research the men in their
families in hopes they will lead me to the women eventually. Most of the time this
theory works. I'd say go for Marion and Hiram. I found both of those names in
the SS Death Index. Their births would have made them Delphie's younger
brothers but they were all born and died within 5 years of each other. You could
start with their SS applications,
Patsy,
Who are your Mitchells & Taylors? I am trying to find info on a Robert &
Ella (Lawyer) Mitchell and their children, Delpha, Marion, and Hiram.
Know very little about them, except what I gathered from Delpha's Funeral
Home Record.

No, it is not refunded and sometimes it takes months.....I have had a lot of
problems trying to get death certificates from Missouri....Sometimes getting
an obit is better

Exactly, and sometimes (last surviving spouse, children not local) that
information may come from someone as remote as the lady who keeps the
boarding house they died in.
Even when it is one of their kids or a spouse, it's iffy; if it's a
grandchild or nephew, etc., gets iffier. I have an ancestor whose death
certificate asks, among other things, for the deceased's father's place of
birth. Answer was given by deceased's grandson---the great-grandson of the
person the question was about. He gave birthpla

No charge, Susan... I am just sorry I wasn't able to find something
concrete.
At my site, you will find my story on my Union Soldier, under the UNION
FUNERAL SERVICE. Then, you will have a better idea why I was determined
to find yours.

, Try the following site for the State of Missouri. It requires Acrobat
Reader I think. But you can print the application for either Birth or Death
Certification. There are other sites for ordering these records, but they
seem to be "middlemen" and charge triple the $10 required here . . . I am
now doing the same thing for Saint Louis City death records---another site
just for the city.
Good Luck,

Thanks very much for the reply & information.
Yes, it is the Osteopathic Hospital that I speak of.
I was trying to find the records of a birth there in that Hospital in 1948 & was informed that the records were moved to Columbia South, Which could be cox south instead.
Best regards Hersh

Why not just call the library and ask them to do the
lookup.
If they won't do it ask them for a referral of a local
researcher. You would get it faster.

As far as refunds from the individual counties, I
don't know if they do that. I have had great
experience with the Missouri State Archives in that if
they do not have a record I'm looking for, they
haven't kept my money and they try to refer me to
where they think I need to go.

Carlolyn,
About a year ago, I was talking to a lady at the Rivermonte Cemetery in
Springfield. At that time, they had the records for Eastlawn. I know the funeral
home there (Ayre Goodwin) has has a name change but someone may be able to help
you.
Jackie
Mary,
You are exactly right and it is going to be removed and the sender blocked.

Susan,
I live close to Fayetteville, Ar. Let me do some checking around here. I
have some ideas on where I might find that for you, but it will take me a
little time. I am close to both Prairie Grove and Pea Ridge Military Parks,
and a group from the University has been doing cemetery listings at 2 of the
old cemeteries, one of which has many Civil War burials.
Wilma
Hersh,
And here I thought I could help (LOL), having grown up there, and visiting
my mother there until she moved to Ar. 5 years ago. I will contact family
still there, and get a definitive answer for you.
Wilma
I would be VERY curious to see if there has been an update on the Civil
War info that I found in the official ROLL OF HONOR BOOKS, that listed
those names and the amount of UNKNOWNs in the Fayetteville Cemetery.
Those books do list everyone buried in all the cemeteries that served
in the Union.. even when they were re-interred after the war.. and that
happened alot.
I have done so much research on the Civil War and finding Union
soldiers, that I have gotten to know those books pretty well.. There is
Does anyone know if death certificates of this era included parents' names?
I have a copy of a modern one which does, but the state could have changed
them over time.
