Great information Mary, as usual. You have been my best informant about my family. I really appreciate everything you have done for me. Did you not recognize the first two pictures? This house is right next door to where they said the post office was. Of course there is only a vacant lot there now where the post office used to be.

Bud,
Thanks for your reply. This is a rather large grace stone and looked to me
to be larger than a "marker." It could be a marker as I have also wondered
if my mother had it placed their for my father. My father was cremated and
his ashes scattered over a forest in Arkansas. It is possible that she had
this placed in the Fayette Cemetery as some sort of memorial to him. She
had Alzhermiers the past seven or eights years before she died and couldn't
remember this.

Yes Shirley, Capt. Benjamin F. Green and Semira Winn are my gr gr gr grandparents. Their daughter Mary Frances Green married Lewis Hawkinson. They had Lola Ethalyn Hawkinson. She married Arthur James McCausland. They had James Cecil McCausland, my grandfather. As far as Ledbetters, that is my husband's line and I will get to his folks after I have finished mine!

On my wonderful trip to Missouri in June to research my ancestors, I knocked on doors of some people still living in Roanoke in Howard county. I was able to visit with John "Boone" Simpson and his wife for about two hours in the old Bagby mansion. He remembered my greatgreatuncles Dr. W. O. Hawkinson and Jim Hawkinson the druggist. He said that Dr. Hawkinson's house was still standing, as was the house that the brothers and their two sisters (one is my greatgrandmother) were raised in by their parents Le

According to a biography of Micah Johnson, on http://www.rootsweb.com/~mohoward (the Howard County Missouri Genealogical Society Website):

My apology to everyone who received this. There is something in my

Harold,
Thanks for the information. I have this information and have located George
W. Thurman's grave and have a photograph of the grave site. The stone I am
trying to identify is not George W Thurman's grave. That's the problem, I
don't know whose it is other than the name printed on it. No dates. It is
a rather large stone and looks to be fairly new.

Hi George,
It is also possible that it is similar to one of our grave marker problems.
One couple had a modest head stone installed. Another couple was not
satisfied and had a second (fancy) stone installed. Big family squabble.
