records are kept in what they called the register clerks office. (EG: registries
office of the municipality of Offenburg).

There were a lot of things of interest to Gen searchers. They mentioned an old city directory, something about photo's of (the town of ?) Resurection, and lots of other books, manuscripts, etc.
