Hello list,
I'm descended from John Franklin Montgomery b. Sept. 9, 1868 and Cora
Ann Shaw
b. Feb. 14, 1869. They produced (among others) Oliver Ernest Montgomery,
etc.
Is John F. likely the son of Emsley C. and Julia Ann Montgomery? Also, does
anyone have more information on Julia Ann (maiden name, anything?)
Thank you for any help you can offer.
-Rob

Hey Peggie,
Do you have any birthdate for your Alexander? Lots of us have one (usually
as a brother of a direct ancestor), but have no idea where he went or whom he
married.

I have recently acquired a book with that title, published 1897.
It is a genealogy of William Montgomery, from Fermanagh near
Five-Mile-Town in County Tyrone Ireland. He was born about
1750 and came to America in about 1803, where he settled in
Perry Township, Licking County, OH.
He and his first wife Miss Wilson had a son John.(????-1849)
With his second wife Margaret Linn Somerville he had four children
Samuel(1785-1867), Margaret (Erwin 1791-1856), Henry(1790-1870) and
William(1793-1849).

I am searching for info on the ancestors of Catherine Montgomery who married
William Shreves. Her sisters Emily and Terizzo also married Shreves men.
Emily married Thomas, father of William. They all lived in Ill at that time.
Catherine was b 1814, d 12-29-1873. We have nothing on the parents of the
Montgomery girls. Catherine and William were parents of Martha Alcott

Hey Carol,
I don't think we've got the same lot. What is it with these Montgomeries?
They seem to be as numerous, and a various as Smiths or Jones. Anyway, I
think myine are Irish or Scotch Irish. The oldest one I have is David b.
1769 in Washington Co< PA. He lived on a farm with a William Montgomery,
also an Isaac Montgomery at one period. The farm was warranted land in what
is now Greene Co, PA. It was called "Sycamore Grove." Well they lost it in

And here I thought that all the Montgomery's who lived
in Washington Co. KY during this time period were the
descendents of Peter Montgomery who was born in
Francein 1684.
Does anyone have any information on an Edward
Montgomery who died May 20, 1833 in Springfield,
Washington Co., KY and was buried in St. Rose
Cemetery. He was born ca. 1760 in Maryland. His father
is thought to be John Baptista Montgomery who died in
Charles Co. MD in 1772. Johns wifes name was

I am searching for information regarding Robert Montgomery who appears in the census in Warren Co. Ga in 1850. I believe that his son given as David T. Montgomery may be my gg-grandfather, David Thaddeus Constantine Montgomery of Houston County TX. I am trying to learn more about the whereabouts of this Robert before his appearance in the 1850 Census, and possibly his family information. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

People,
PLEASE put places and dates on your Montgomery Ancestors. There were so many
of them, in so many places, and they tended to all uses similar names. With
just the names, we have no idea if they connect or not.

Hello Ron,
My name is Carol Montgomery and I'm in Westerville, Ohio. I am also
researching the Montgomery
line. My sister-in -law is also doing research on two different lines of
Montgomery, She was married
to a Montgomery man before my brother-in -law , the two are not related.
Perhaps one or both
of us can be of some help to you.

Dear Cousins,

Phil, do you have any more information about your Hugh, such as a birthdate, parents, or anything
else? Here is my information about my earliest Montgomery ancestor in the USA: Robert Montgomery
was born in 1765 either in South Carolina, USA, or on the Atlantic Ocean as the family migrated from
Northern Ireland. His children were named Hugh, John, Alexander, Betsy, Peggy, Polly and Jane. I
know that we Montgomerys are notorious for using the same few names over and over, but your "Hugh,

HI,
My name is Ron Montgomery. I live in Columbus, Ohio. I really haven't been
able to get much information about who in my ancestral history came over on
the boat from either Ireland or Scotland. I went to Scotland a couple of
years ago hoping to come up with some links there but could only find the
Montgomery castle near a little village of Kilwinning. It was great to see
the Montgomery Shield on the remnants of the castle wall. I will keep my
eyes open for relatives. thank you for contacting
I am sorry, but we almost all have a James Montgomery in our family tree...
Could you be a little bit more specific? Perhaps a location?
