Lisa: Thank you for this information. No need to apologize! You and Roy and
Fred and the Profitt ladies (hope I haven't left anyone out), do us a great
service. Anyway, it's still winter in Lenexa, KS and will likely be so until

river is Fishing River and the edges on the Missouri River. I hope this
helps you. Also I have never heard of the Davis Cemetery. The only

Hi Folks -
I had been seeing quite a bit of correspondence to the list as replies
to a query about the Orrick Cemetery & decided to check one out instead of
deleting it - and guess what? It wasn't about the Orrick cemetery at all -
instead it was about Bunch/Kincaid genealogies.
I know I am not alone in deleting incoming mail based upon the subject
line and whether or not I have info on that surname, but alot of messages can
get lost along the way if the subject lines aren't updated with

Would one of the listers either familiar with or living in Ray county tell me
if there are any published listings for cemeteries in Orrick area?
I'm looking for the burial place of Joseph Brady. He died May 22, 1887. He
was living in Orrick at the time and was treated by a Dr. Sheetz. His wife's
name was Elizabeth...she lived several years after his death and I don't know
if she is buried with him. I have a copy of a letter from a Mr. Willard
Rowland stating that he had known him many years and h
Are there two Ephraim Clarks, who lived about the same time?
I recently purchased a copy of "Missouri Birth and Death Records," by
Sherida K. Eddlemon in which there is listed an Ephraim, b. 8 Feb 1818; d.
13 Aug 1914, Ray Co.; bur. Riffe Cemetery.
I previously had in my database:
Ephraim M. Clark, b. 8 Feb 1822, Lexington, Lafayette Co., Missouri; d. 13
Aug 1914 Orrick, Ray Co., Missouri; bur. Rowland Cemetery, Orrick, Ray
Co., Missouri. I show him buried in Rowland Cemetery.

THANK YOU FOR TICKLING MY MEMORY AS I HAD AN UNCLE LIVING IN
MISSOURI CITY. MY GRANDFATHER DUARD TEMPLE BUILT THE GRADE
SCHOOL IN MISSOURI CITY AND HERE ABOUT 10 OR SO YEARS AGO THE
COUNTY DECIDED TO TEAR IT DOWN TO BUILD ANOTHER SCHOOL. THE
RESIDENTS FOUGHT FURIOUSLY BECAUSE IT WAS SUCH A STURDY AND
BEAUTIFUL SCHOOL. A FRIEND OF MINE SON IS PRINCIPAL THERE TODAY.
IT IS A BEAUTIFUL ONE STORY STONE BUILDING. I BELIEVE IT WAS BUILT IN
THE EARLY 1930'S WHEN WAS ABOUT 7 YEARS OLD...NOT FOR SURE BUT
DO REMEM
Carolyn,
My BALES family came to Ray County Mo around 1832 from New Market, TN. The
head of the household was William BALES who was born in 1792 in New Market
and died in 1882 in Ray Co., MO. There were 10 children in his family, all
born in TN, but some may not have come to Missouri. The family had been
Quakers in Tennessee and they came from a long line of Quakers who lived in
North Carolina and in Pennsylvania and New Jersey before immigrating to
Tennessee.
