discussion about African American research -- asking what kinds of
information to look for.
In particular -- if there is any information about the "slave community"
or the ante-bellum community for any Missouri county.. this is very
important to researchers. This may give them some clues as to the
backdrop of the community, slave owners and lifestyle of that era and
area!

May I add something to what Le'Royce E. Bratsveen from the UK and Traci
Wilson-Kleekamp has been saying over the last several months?
There are many of us out here that might check back into their histories
a bit. Recently there was an article that claims that we can all be
traced to I believe 5 women in Europe, wish I had kept the article.
Anyhow, many of you on this list know that I am a Funeral Director, but I
don't work out of a Funeral Home. After I retired in 1992. I found that

I would like to thank Traci Wilson-Kleekamp for this message and would like
to add a few thoughts.

Hey Listers
The real hard work in tracing African American ancestors comes from
reading the microfilm and transcribing a variety of documents. My
website has a variety of documents available because of the volunteer
efforts of other researchers. Washington and Franklin county black
marriages and several others are available via the links below.
