"If Buxton was going into the killing game he should have killed the other fellow too." I don't think that the paper is approving of this murder. Rather it is saying that in regards to judgement for the actions committed -that both Buxtons' wife and Pear Peam should have suffered the same fate. Which would have resulted in both of them losing their lives. It doesn't appear to be condoning murder, rather pointing out that the "gentleman" involved suffered nothing for his part in what occurred. Also... How

The Man you write about is no doubt Leslie Rosenstangle. He lived in Esther and was an accomplished Pianist. I'm not a relative and haven't heard a word from him in over 50 years. He did have an older brother Harry Rosenstangle and his father also was named Harry. I hope this helps you in some manner....Herb

My mom had lots of stories to tell about her sisters learning to drive out off Sinks Road in Florissant when mom and dad were away from home for the day....this was in the 30's...i remember when drivers licenses came about - my aunt also got one without learning to drive first. All you had to do was apply for one and u got it.

I do know that there was not test to get a driver's license until the 1950s. My grandmother had a driver's license for years and never did learn to drive. I have William J. Estes born abt. 1799 and Emily Estes born abt 1795, both in Tennessee. They married 4-10-1823 and had 6 children, Martha being next to the youngest. Their children were John Wesley, Malinda, William, Martha, Minerva and a baby boy who died at birth. Martha was born in Washington County, Arkansas.
