Joyce,
I realized that he was, in fact, listed after I posted the message. I had
"Nash" on the brain and was looking under the Nash name instead of
Ketcherside name. He is listed in the Cemeteries of St. Francois County
Missouri listing for Adams Cemetery at Bonne Terre but listing has symbol
which indicates that no tombstone was seen for him. Rebecca Ann, his
wife, is also listed. Do you have an obit for her?

Hello Joyce, Could you please look the McCrary name up on your 1840
Washington Co., MO census for me?? I have 1830 and 1850 but not 1840, I
want to see if any of the 4 Mccrary names that are on the 1830 census are
still on the 1840 one. Thanks a bunch, Jeanette.

Thank you for letting us know about Dollie! I will call my cousins here in
St. Louis, they may not be aware. They are relatives of hers, I believe.
Thanks again!

No, I do not have an obit for Rebecca. The only thing that I do have is the

I realize some of it is what I sent you earlier, so just bear with me.

I ended up spending quite a bit of money to have these files taken off of my

Hello Joyce, I saw something "somewhere" that said the McCreary's were from
Washington Co., MO. I have already searched the counties around St Francois
Co. for any indication of them and have found nothing. But I did find the
name in Washington Co., Mo as early as the 1830 census.
There are no Creavy names listed at all there. So I do believe her last
name was McCreary. Do we have an age for her anywhere?? As there is a

Jeanette,
My interest is in Isaac H, son of Moses and Malissa. He marries in 1872 and
they are in the Iron County census in 1880. Wife dies in 1891. The 4
children fall off the face of the earth between 1880 and 1900.
I think I may have found Isaac in St. Louis alone in 1900. Can't locate him
after that and cannot find the children.
The 4 children of Isaac and Mary Cunningham are:
Emma A. b. 1874
Lila B. or Lily B. b. 1875
William C. b. 1877
Mary E. b. 1879
The girls probably married by the time the

Some of these McCreary articles in the Farmington Book were submitted by
Mary McCreary O'Connor. I guess what popped out at me was that the
article in the Bellevue book mentioned the name Vance and Mary has
mentioned that surname to me too. For some reason, I had it in my head
that you were all researching the same family, but that the name McCreary
was spelled so many different ways because of misspellings in census
records, etc. Mary sent me a big envelope of research this week on the

Hi Bettye,
I have not seen the biographical sketch on this family, nor have I
tried to contact anyone in this family.
After reading what you have written, I do not believe that this is the
same family. Not a single name, including the surname of McCreary, match
any of the names that I currently have.
Names that I have for Margaret J. "Peggy" (Moses) first husband, is
either MCCRAVY or MCCREAVY, given name unknown. Their son Joseph is buried
in Adams Cemetery under the name of MCCRAVY

Betty,
Thank you for the posting from the Lead Belt News.
Rebecca Ketcherside's maiden name was either MCCRAVY (MCCREAVY) or NASH.
It has not been determined for sure whether she was a MCCRAVY (MCCREAVY) or
a NASH.
Rebecca was the daughter of Margaret J. "Peggy" (Moses) McCravy - Nash.
Her mother's, (Margaret J. "Peggy" Moses), first marriage was to an
"Unknown" McCravy, and they married About 1845. Margaret's second marriage
was to Henry Nash, marriage date unknown. McCravy has also
Hi Bettye,
