1. RE: MS-SCOTS-D Digest V04 #11 [1]
Lynn, I'm sorry that I gave the impression that Revis & I don't get along or share. I meant what I said "tongue in cheek" in a kidding way. Revis and 3 other female descendants of William Davis Stuart are the main ones working on his line. We each descend from a different child of his so represent the family as a whole. As the only male descendant interested enough, I did the DNA thing and at least gave us all a definite direction in which to search. Too bad we can't link your Trammel family to Smith Coun
2. Davis / Stuart Connection??? [1]
Tree Mother, Do you or any of the other Davis researchers have any evidence of any type of relationship between one of the Davis families and one of the Stewart/Stuart families? My William Davis Stuart possibly got his middle name from his mother's family or from close friends of the family. He was born 1823 in AL and died and is buried in Neshoba Co., MS. I'm grasping at straws hoping to find where in AL he was prior to 1850! He first appears on the 1850 Winston Co. census then on Neshoba census after that
3. McCall: Isle of Mull >NC >MS [1]
I was looking through the online catalog of Tulane University's Manuscripts Department and came across the following description of the family papers of Cross Keys Plantation, Tensas, LA,. Tensas is directly across the MS River from Jefferson Co., MS, and many residents moved back and forth between the two places. This was true in the case of the McCalls, who moved across the river from the old river port of Rodney in Jefferson Co. If any of you are in search of McCalls and this turns out to be your fami

5. McLeod [1]
I have been researching my wife's McLeod families for quite a few years. They first came to North Carolina, moved on to Camden, SC around 1815 and then to Barbour County, Ala. around 1833. Mac McAtee

Ethel, I've also an administrator on the Louisana site, if you need an invite for it as well. Look forward to seeing you on Mississippi Memories. Will do, right this sec. See you on site. You can let me know on the Celtic Pub site later. Will also look at my reference I mentioned below and see how many pages, might can scan to you as a pdf or jpeg image. You asked Andy what an RTF file is. If you have Word Pad you can read any RTF file in it. As for PDF, you need a Acrobat Reader, and for the jpeg,
8. Re: [MS-SCOTS] Fairley clan [1]
Emily, John & others. I have posted my research of the Descendants John Fairly (1717) of Richmond County, NC as far as I have been able to get. This is a work in progress, and almost certainly will need 'adjustments'. If you have something to add (or correct) please contact Myrtle Bridges. See: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncrichmo/index.html or go to my personal site at http://home.att.net/~hbridges/myrtle.htm and scroll down page.

This is a forwarded message, please reply to Marti or to the list. 10. KINGS [1]
My King brickwall is John Phillip King, who married Mary Calhoun. Their son Phillip Dennis King was born in Georgia, I'm guessing about 1850. Phillip moved to Colorado to search for gold and married Sara Copeland. Phillip and Sara's son, John Calhoun King (b. 1875-CO), made his home in Jeff Davis County, MS and died there in 1958. To Marie and other King researchers: Do you have any information on these Kings? Thanks, Stacy Guidry King

14. Re: Carmichael/McCormick [1]
Hi Nancy, Do you have dates for your Carmichaels? I have quite a list of Carmichaels that connect to the marriage of John McIntyre and Mary Carmichael in 1809. John was born in Scotland in 1767 and died in NC, 7 Mar 1854. Mary was born abt 1790 and died 1835. They had 9 children. Mary's parents were John Carmichael, 1755/1837 and Nancy McKeichen, 1765/1838. Both came from Scotland and died in NC. John had two brothers, that I know of; Dougald, 1750/bef1830, married to Flora Monroe, and Gilbert, born
15. Carmichael/McCormick [1]
My Carmichael and McCormick families came to the Carolinas from the Isle of Lismore, Argyll, Scotland. They settled in Richmond County (later Scotland County), NC. Before long, "Commodore" Dougald Carmichael moved across the state line to Marion County, SC; but Duncan and Katherine McCormick remained in Richmond County. Katherine was a Carmichael before her marriage. Children of these families, Daniel Carmichael and Nancy McCormick, married and migrated, first, to Autagua County, AL, and lat

17. Re: [MS-SCOTS] McDonald, McNair, McDougal, McGill [1]
The only information I have for Betsey McNair is that she was born in January, 1766 and Carol Shrader is the source of that information. Mac, I have a Norman C. McLeod, b:abt 1816. He was married to Flora Jane Carmichael born1820 in Dillon, SC and died 11 Mar 1858 in Leaksville, MS. They were married in 1844. They had 4 children, 2 girls and 2 boys. They were Peter, Daniel, Mary, and Kate. That's about all the information I have on them. 20. Re: [MS-SCOTS] Re: Passports-King [1]
You know, they made good time on that trip. He was in Adams County, MS in September 1808 and signed for his oldest daughter Catherine to marry Thomas Aldridge. I don't think Franklin County was yet a county at that time. David's oldest children, Catherine and Sarah Ann were born in South Carolina. David and Mary (twins) and Jane were born in Georgia. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nancy" To: Sent: Thursday, July 15, 2004 4:51 PM Subject: [MS-SCOTS]
21. James H. Dallas [1]
Interested in any info about a James H. Dallas who left South Carolina about 1856 and arrived in Winston County, MS no later than 1860. He was born in 1828 in SC and died in 1863 in TN. His wife was Mary Ann Hindman. They had three children: Pierce Butler Dallas, John Woodard Dallis and Betty Dallis. The two sons lived in Winston County and Neshoba County. Am particularly interested in any of James H.'s siblings, if any. Duaine

25. Re: [MS-SCOTS] Passports through Georgia [1]
Nancy, David King, my ancestor, was born in Scotland in 1754. He came to this country shortly before the Rev. War and fought in it. We're not sure where he came originally but was living outside Camden, S.C. when he first joined. He lived in Washington County, GA for fourteen years before finally coming to the Franklin County, MS. area to live in 1808. He has two passports. One gives permission for him and a John Davis(looks more like Davies) the latest one in 1808 gives permission for he and his family
