Hi, I am a new member and this is my first time to post. I have ancestors that settled in Chickasaw County as early as 1839-40. Elias Joseph Wofford and wife, Delilah Emily Wofford settled there and I think some of their descendents are still there.....would like to hear and exchange information. My real stumbling block is Ellison Waddell, born abt 1815, Spartanburg, South Carolina who married Elizabeth Johnson in 1838 in Spartanburg. Hi James,....I appreciate your quick response. My lines are all white, they all originated from Spartanburg, South Carolina, ironically, I can find lots of info prior to 1800, but not so much after that. I don't have the Chickasaw history book so any information you could send would be great. Elias Joseph and Delilah Emily Wofford's descendants married the Weavers and I think they are still there. Hello Barbara-----Let me ask this first, maybe it will help in looking for your line. Is this line black or white? There are both here in Chickasaw. There is a line mixed also. In our Chickasaw County History book #1 is a write up on a Wofford line. In Vol 2 I am not sure. I do not have a copy here at my store this morning, but will look and see.
