The Stone Cemetary is behind my uncle's home in Zero,Ms. It is several hundred yards behind him and was indeed very grown over and hidden.The tornadoes that went through the area several years ago damaged the landscape considerably.I have cut my way in with a machette and literraly cut my way to every headstone. I have a list of all the gravesites that still had ID's. My uncle is nearly blind and in his 80's and cannot possibly keep the property up any longer. He told me that the cemetary was once maintain

Could anyone tell me where the old Pigford family cemetery is. I have a map that shows it north of the Mt. Gilead church and cemetery. However there are no roads on this map. I have been told that there is a historical marker in Lauderdale County that tells that this is the place where Elizabeth Wells Pigford is buried. I thought that this might be the cemetery. Regarding this cemetery: Has anyone recorded the stones and photographed them before they are all lost? I am recording a cemetery in my city and photographing the stones. The data will be in book form and hopefully therefore preserved for the future. I had many family members who lived in Lauderdale Co. but I have not been able to locate any of their burials. Keep hearing about the cemeteries being destroyed. Please keep us informed as to the preservation of Stone Cemetery and its records. Thanks also for

Howdy, Iva's parents would be listed on her death certificate. Texas began recording deaths at the state level in 1903.
