Hi..I'm new to the list and need information about the Fountaine, Fountain
families in Newton County, especially that of Henry Fountaine and Clarissa
Thurman Fountaine who lived near Hickory. I need the names of their
children. I know one is Sarah who married Reuben W. Barrett and one is
Margaret who married a Bruce. Another daughter married a Harris and I think
one may have married a Jones. I will appreciate any information about this
family and their relatives. Kathleen Garner
Hi,
I don't know anything about Fountain's but I am interested in Barrett's and
Harris's in the Hickory area. My Blakely's married into both of those lines.

Hi,
I am hoping that you can help me.
I am researching to document that John W. Boler is the son of William Riden Boler, both of whom were listed in the 1880 Franklin Izard Co., AR census (see the 1880 and 1900 census data at the end of this e-mail).
John was born in Mississippi. William was born in Alabama. William's 1st wife, Martha Gordon, was born in Alabama also. John's birthdate was 1/1851, according to the 1900 Franklin, Izard Co., AR census. Carol Shrader tells me that there are errors in the
Hi,
Here's a clarification and correction to the earlier e-mail.

Carol,
In our earlier correspondence on Adlelaide Boler who married George Abney; I
did not know if you had located them or not. They moved to Indian Gap
Texas.
According to her obit in 1935 in Indian Gap they moved there some years
before George died. Their children were: Ora Euginia Abney b June 11 1873;
Joseph ( George ) Abney b 1880, and Mattie Abney b May 3 1889. After this
information we do not know when George Abney died. Adelaide remarried to T
A Lovelace. She had three children with hi
I need a census look up for 1860 and 1870 for the following family:
My great great grandfather Andrew Jackson Stuart aka Jackson Stewart aka A J
Stuart/ A J Stewart.... I don't know the wife of Andrew but his children
were Meredith Leonard Stuart born approx 1858 in Iuka MS and a daughter
Leona Stuart. Meredith would be about 2 years old in the 1860 census and 12
in the 1870 census.
Andrews wife was killed and the children left on a rail siding. The children
lived with the McCullough/ McCullock family.
The only thing I can give on the Bolers is that Martha Adelaide Boler who
married George Abney; did not live in Ms ; they moved to Indian Gap Texas;
when he died, she remarried and had more children by T A Lovelace of Indian
Gap Texas. Her obit was in the Goldwaite Eagle-Mullin Enterprises in 1935,
the children by George Abney were;
Ora Euginia Abney b June 1873, Newton Co
Joseph (George) Abney b 1880
Mattie Abney May 3 1889
three children of Adelaide Abney Lovelace are Earl and Roy Lovelace of N
Family of Henry F. and Clarissa Thurman Fountain
Henry F. Fountain was born in NC or SC about 1798. He was on the Greene
County MS census in 1830 and 1840 and in Newton Co. MS near Hickory in 1845.
He may have gone on to Texas from Newton Co. He and Clarissa's children were:
Sarah b. ABT 1832 m Reuben W. Barrett (son of Arthur)about 1856. Children
were:
1. Ruffin b. ABT 1858 m. Annie Lancaster(1) Deaner Ashley (2). Children
with Annie were Clara Basheba and Rutha. Child
Carolyn,
Adelaide Boler was Martha Virginia Adelaide Boler, a daughter of John M.
Boler (Wesley Boler's 2nd son) and his wife Martha Adeline Boyd. Adelaide
married George Abney Oct. 10, 1872 in Newton Co, MS. There was a newspaper
notice of their marriage that has been published in the Strickland & Edwards
book "Newton Co, MS Newspaper Items & WPA papers".
I don't have any documentation on where George Abney died and is buried.
Another Abney researcher advised that he died Jan 9, 1881 in Newton Co, MS

At this point I don't know anymore about the Harris' than I posted in the
message about the Fountains. I am sure I saw something about a
Blakely-Barrett combination, either on the Barret-Reuben-SC-L@rootsweb.com or
on the following website:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~barrettbranches/
I couldn't find it immediately so I posted a question on the mailing list.
I'm sure I once saw it because it was spelled a little differently and I
thought "That must supposed to be Blakely". I have c
Thank you Carolyn.

Gary....An Arthur and Albany Barrett are listed on the page showing persons
who applied for the Dawes Roll as Mississippi Choctaws where I found
Sylvester Barrett. Albany might be your Albina?? Sylvester's application is
where I found most of the info I posted about the Fountain family in Newton
Co. The address for that site is:

get a copy of the application at the SW branch of the National Archives in
