1. [MSWILKIN] Spanish American War [1]
Someone is asking about records of veterans of Spanish American war. I suggest a couple of resources, which may not give any genealogical info, but.... to know what you are looking for, you have to know whether it will be useful to you. 1. Ask your librarian to help you find some information on the Spanish American War. I understand that it, the War, was incited by the publications of William Randolph Hearst, but what do I know? A children's encyclopedia may help you understand. Theodore R
2. [MSWILKIN] Ashley DNA results [1]
Virginia, do you have any more information on S.B. Ashley (I only have his initials.) who married Fredonia E. McNeil, daughter of Daniel and Edna White McNeil, Jr. (or II)? I don't have much on their son, Ransom?/Ranson? Ashley, who married Emma Seale, though I have 8 children's names. All I have on them came from Rev. Martin Luther White's 1925 family tree for Robin White and Mary Hux and John Lewis Coon and Mary Fannon, which has very few dates. Kathy Schultz kathysschultz@earthlink.net >Date: Mon,

This should also be in the archives of this list. I can't remember exactly when I extracted these marriages but it must have been quite a while back since they still have my old address. All marriages in Wilkinson county, to 1920, are on microfilm and can be rented through your local Family History Center. To find your nearest Family History Center check www.familysearch.org. Check the library catalog for a listing of all microfilm available for Wilkinson county, MS. I know many of the deed, inventory

Thank you for the list of marriages. I could not find the name on your list but have you ever seen any Coreys, Blantons or Townsends on any of the list? -----Original Message----- From: freedbyluvv@yahoo.com To: MSWILKIN@rootsweb.com Sent: Thu, 25 Jan 2007 1:15 PM Subject: [MSWILKIN] Colored Marriages 1865 -1870 Wilkinson Co. http://www.afrigeneas.com/library/ms-wilkinson/aamarriages.html --April researching FEARS, ROBINSON, HURD, Ga.> OH. researching HARRIS, THOMS, MOSS, va.> OH. researching WILLIA

12. [MSWILKIN] Ashley DNA results [1]
For our Wilkinson Co. MS Ashley family, I had my male cousin do a DNA sample. His sample matched with another descendant of John D. Ashley [no surprise] and James Thomas Ashley, b. 1876 Coahoma Co., MS. I have not been able to trace this line but still have hopes of doing so. The lady working this line thinks they connect to the Robert Ashley of Claiborne Co., MS but we haven't been able to prove it, at this time. One thing we do know is, Robert Ashley of Claiborne co. had a brother named Thomas and
