I have some old (1900-1930) photos of some wranglers at Grubb's Livery. I'm sure the place was in Montana. I'm guessing Garfield county, but don't quote me.
I'd like to share them and identify them. To do that, I need to know where Grubb's Livery was.
Can someone help me? Ema

Fred Heist was shot to death. I will have to get the old newspaper stories
to get the details, and will send the information on to you.
The following is from They Say "It Happened That Way", a history of Ingomar,
Sumatra & Vananda.
FRED HEIST FAMILY
Mr. And Mrs. Fred Heist and their four young children, George, Effie,
Ivalve and Frank, and Fred's mother, Eliza Jane Heist, came from Nash,
Oklahoma, to Miles City, Montana, in two covered wagons in the fall of 1912.
Fred's mother drove one wagon. Mr. Heis
George F. Heist homesteaded in Township 13N Range 36E, Section 2 about 1913. He and his family are on the 1920 census. The family story is that he was shot to death. I'm looking for some kind of proof. His youngest child was born in July 1921, and his widow was in Washington State by 1930. I'm thinking his death would have been closer to 1921 than to 1930.
George was born about 1874 in Illinois. He and Etta had 8 children, the first 5 born in Oklahome and the last 3 in Montana.
