Hi List...
Wow! I just made a huge genealogy error and wish to make sure I correct
it...and mention it on the list so others might learn from my actions.
In posting a new listing to the THOMAS MURPHY WHO? list, I assumed that
the posting was erroneous and took it upon myself to "fix it" for the
"newbie" who submitted it. I WAS WRONG!!!! The listing was correct as
submitted!!
If I had not been advised of this....that error could remain and people
be confused over it for years to come. I DO APOLOGIZE
I am still looking for a family for William Henry Murphy, born July,
1852, in Maryland, parents possibly born in Pennsylvania or Virginia
(initials on 1900 census were unclear)
In 1900 William was living in Bloomington, Maryland, occupation: coal
miner.
I know he married Sarah Ellen Enlow, of the Garrett County, Maryland
Enlows and I have information for his children.
Does anyone have a family in which my William might fit?
Many thanks,
Pat Thompson

Hi Thomas: Looks like you'd like information about lots of Alexander

Sorry, my Alexander Murphy had two daughters, but I don't know their names.
They were married in 1831. Alexander's wife's name was Lucinda Pullium.
They lived in Highland County.

My grandfather was "Frank Murphy" born 1886. I do not know his full christian
name. His family was from Boston. He served in the fourth division in France
in WW1. He lived in Boston with his wife Marie Summey (from N.C.) after
returning from the war. They had 2 children there, but lost them to the flu at
a very young age. They could have been in a Catholic hospital,(there is a
story about Marie being refused to see them because she was not Catholic).
Frank and Marie moved to N.C. after their childrens'
I believe this Murphy genealogy book was written by Marion Emerson Murphy. It
concerns his family that migrated to Robertson Co., Tn. Marion Emerson Murphy
lived in California before his death.

Thank You for your response. I just, this afternoon, received some pictures
from my Summey family in N.C. My grandfather Frank Murphy had a sister named
"Elizabeth Murphy". In the picture it appears that she is missing one leg. I
also received pictures of Marie Murphy with her two babies in Boston. One
child was named "Francis" and appears to be a male child. I now think that
"Frank's " name was probably" Francis". Thanks, once again.Deborah Fondon.
P.S. I suppose it's possible that "Elizabeth" could b
