All I have on William Columbus Murphy born Oct 12, 1887 in Canton,
Fulton Illinois, his mother Nellie McCorton born in Tenn. We do not
know his father's name, it is believed to be William and he was born
in Indian Territory (was on marriage record) Nellie remarried and
appeared with new husband in the 1900 census of Illinois, Henry Giles-
son Johnny, daughter Ethel, adopted son William Murphy. It notes that
there were married 4 years and that she had two other kids. We do not
know of any other

Murphy born 10/12/1887 (my grandfather) in Canton Illinois, husband
William died or they divorced and wife remarried Henry Giles around

My name is Gerald Finney. I am trying to locate information on the parents of my brick wall ancestor Isaac B. Finney of Coshocton/Tuscarawas County Ohio. His family was associated with the Murphy and McFadden families so I am seeking information on the Finney, Murphy, and McFadden families that lived in Belmont and Tuscarawas Counties in Ohio.
There is a James Finney in who owned land in Washington Twp in Tuscarawas County. He owned Lots #35, 33, 32 in the 1st quarter of Township 5
Sorry I have taken so long to reply. I work at the Genealogy Library in McAlester Okla. I didn't have any luck at finding the William Murphy you asked about. Maybe if you could give me additional information I could find him. What is the name of William C's wife and did they come back to Oklahoma? Since records for Indian Territory only go back to about 1886, they were probably already in Illinois.
