I, also, have the Davis line in my Fitzgerald family and have heard that they were Native Americans. Francis Davis married John Fitzgerald before 1820, Nancy, sister to Francis, married John's younger brother, William in 1820. Father of Francis and Nancy was Lewis Davis, mothers maiden name was Locke or Locky. Abner, son of John and Francis Davis served in an all Native American regement for the Confederate Army. I am still trying to find out more on the Davis family to see if they were Native American. Tha
13. [NativeAmericanDelmarva] From List Mom - Happy Thanksgiving 2000 [1]
Tribute to our Ancestors on this day of Thanksgiving. THEY did not choose us, nor we them; we never knew them, nor they us; yet we are inextricably bound together for all eternity and there is no law in the universe, no metamorphosis physical or spiritual, that can ever alter this inalienable truth. OFTEN we may wish for different ones and feel moved to deny the ones we have, but this is as futile as it is foolish to invent spurious ones, for our deception will surely be unmasked, if not by oth

15. [NativeAmericanDelmarva] Native American roots???? [1]
In my family there is a story that we have a lot of Native Americans among our ancestors. I don't know for sure where this would have come in, but I have seen a picture of Jemima DAVIS who looks like she has Indian ancestors. She is the daughter of George Washington DAVIS and Ann GOFF. Ann GOFF was the daughter of William GOFF and Betsy WHITTEN. Jemima lived near Canmer, Kentucky (1825-1895). George Washington Davis died in Hart County, KY, in the 1820s. He originally came from Virginia. Another bra

19. Seeney [1]
There is an interesting archaeology/genealogy report at http://home.dmv.com/~eheite/index.html "Delaware's Invisible Indians" and "Mitsawoket, the Community on Pumpkin Neck" There is good information about how the Native American/Moor people show up in the records. I found one Seeney in this report. James H. Seeney is mentioned as a church trustee on a deed in 1892 in Cheswold. When I looked up Cheswold, Del. on the Infoseek Map site, I found that there's a Seeneytown nearby. Go to http://infoseek.go

Hello to all list members. My name is Katie Hull and I am currently involved in a research project that perhaps some of you would be so kind as to contribute to. As many of you know, there are extensive historical recor
